Never satisfied

Even if these ladies were to come in here and expalin to you all every one of their symbols and the reason behind them...I doubt that you would be satisfied with their answers. I mean again their has to be something better that you could be doing. No matter how much you all bitch and moan I don't think that they are going to change it. You get over it already. Tell me honestly what does this woman son have to do with anything. If they claim to represent "femininity" I doubt that this lady thinks that she is a man. That is the thing that pisses me off the most. You all think because we like women we want to be men. I mean OMG! That woman's poem could be taken anyway, but of course one of you would take it as if she thinks she is a man, I mean how closed minded can you be. Get a grip ladies for real!

Since I assume you were referring to my post about the son issue, let me clarify. I now know that the woman has a son that she proudly raises. Good for her. In my intial post I was genuinely confused as to the wording of her webpage. Now I am clear. I didn't think she "wanted to be a man." Please. I found it somewhat startling to see a poem in that context written by a female. I am not used to a woman referencing another woman, or herself for that matter, by saying "you da man."

I can't blame you for your perception about my post, but if ever my intentions are ambiguous, I would rather you pm me for clarification than to post a frantic plea for everyone to get a grip. Thanks.

P.S. If you find me close-minded, feel free to pm me and we can discuss a myriad of gay rights issues, such as the Stonewall uprising.

LOL!!! I usually don't post on other org's Boards, but I totally understand what yall are feeling in aspects of people copying you and what not. A lot of Up and Coming orgs have a legitimate reason for wanting to start something that wasn't already out there, and you can kinda say that for a lesbian sorority, but what is the point of copying a lot of aspects from another org. when those orgs. already exist...Why not join those? Maybe there was a need for a lesbian sorority, but the only difference between US and them is sexuality. You don't see US saying, "Oh, our orgs. are for feminine heterosexuals only"... I think orgs. like this who copy a lot of "Trademarks" make it appear as Up and Coming orgs are just copycats.

On another note....Did yall peep out the links page... Click on the org. Alpha Lambda Tau "Social Fraternity For Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Alternative Lifestyle Friendly Male College Students founded 1999 in Las, Vegas Nevada" http://www.alphalambdatau.org/

They got a roaring lion wagging his tail....I was thinking.....What did that lion just get done doing.....ROTFLMAO!!!!

Red face

This is something that I had never heard of. I think it's a good idea for the lesbian community, but I saw Delta, Aka, Zeta and even SGRHO.... Ladies if you wanted to plede one of those organizations, then you should have done so... P.S. DELTA IS TO BE LIFTED HI IN THE AIR, NEVER CARRIED LOW!!!!

First of all, I wouldn't expect these women to come in here and explain anything to me....because I, for DARN SURE would NOT ever "explain" any of Alpha Kappa Alpha's history, symbols, etc. to ANYONE.

What it all boils down to is that I do not take these chicks very seriously. They have BLATANTLY adopted "something" from each of the D4 sororities. I don't see much (other than HDIC) that sets them apart and unique. Just because they're lesbians doesn't really differentiate much. Heck, all of the D4 orgs have some lesbians in them....just as we all have some members of different races, backgrounds, etc.

This is MY OWN OPINION. I would welcome the new GC member from their org to join in this conversation.

Okay you guys,
I don't know anything about CREATING a greek organization.
But is throwing letters on a shirt and wearing it, all you have to do these days, JUST TO SAY YOU ARE GREEK. (I doubt it)

Isn't there a process that a group has to go through before it can officially be said, that it is in fact a greek org?

Someone please school me.

LOL they're butch. I mean stereotypically butch. I hate when people TRY to fulfill stereotypes, I really do. It sets the movement back. But they're doing their thing.

I also understand both orgs' needs, just not the biting. I mean, how we're joking around now, they probably got face to face. Plus, with all the stuff they took from other orgs, they probably got those jokes while on line and ended up dropping. What did Chris Rock say. "It's not right, but I understand it."

But I am tripping off some reactions about the vulva-triangle. Okay, y'all, what's grosser: when you see women doing an upside down triangle, or when you see men doing that tongue-flickering thing? Because, to me, that tongue thing is JUST nasty, while seeing the triangle, unless they put it to their mouths (sorry to go there) is just ho-hum, another symbol.
