Finally...It's OVER

What an absolute shame on Mara and Jordon for waiting until the very last second to stand up and make those dumb a$$ speeches about not going through with initiation. I caught the part where Becca said that Jordan had just called her cell and was on her way to take the test in time...so Becca was expecting her to go through with it. That mess was PREMEDITATED!

Pauli is my girl. I could kick it with her anyday! She had me LMAO when she was sipping on her soda listening to Mara and Jordan. She was like "Boo Losers...Be Gone".

I'm glad this whole thing is over. Candace signed up to be on the Rush committee....might be good for her to get a taste of her own medicine.

One more thing...WTF is up with the pledges and sisters that were wearing PANTS to the initiation ritual? Ever heard of CONSERVATIVE BLACK DRESS?

I hate to say it, but I would not be surprised if Candace got drunk one night and spilled all of SAEP's secrets and rituals.

The entire last episode was a set up. Jordan didn't want to do it from the beginning. She just wanted to be on TV. It was sad how she was trying to pressure Amanda to drop or "de-pledge." She just wants to seem like the leader and gather all these little followers.

It is really dumb that they went through all the dramatics at the induction. I understand not wanting to be a part of something that never made you feel welcome, but I wouldn't walk up in INDUCTION and then be like, "Oh, I have been played and dissed for the whole quarter, but tonight was the right time to reject this sorority." They never did anything wrong to the pledges. If you look at the first few episodes, Jordan went in there with the attitude that she never "conforms" and "rules are made to be bent/broken." I am glad she didn't go over.

I am glad that Amanda did what AMANDA wanted to do and that was go through with it. I am happy for all of them. Maybe they'll see how it is now that they are in. I know that Jordan is really going to feel bad when Amanda is hanging with her new sisters.

I am just shocked and appalled. They're doing it for a house, but ultimately it will NOT be worth it- the kind of disunity that pledges picked by MTV would foster could possibly, heck PROBABLY destroy the chapter.
Was this info on www.mtv.com? Do you know if it will be the same sorority or will it be a different sorority?

Ditto RedefinedDiva!

Good morning Ladies (and Gentlemen who may be reading). This is my first time posting. I had to say something because in my opinion this was one of the most ridiculous things I have ever seen.

I am not a member of a Greek Organization, but I was truly offended by the "women" in this show. My question is what happened to them that was so dreadful that they felt unwanted in the Organization? I admit I missed a few shows, however, every time I did see the show, they were all drunk and falling all over each other. The only things I did see them do was move some rocks and make glittery posters!?!

The Members of the Sigma were [in my eyes] EXTREMELY lenient with them and tolerated quite a bit of nonsense that others would not. Not once did I see any of the pledges [of those in the house] discussing the Organization, why they wanted to be members of Sigma or what they had to offer the Sorority.

I was angry for Becca and the other Members when the "pledges" sat at the Sorority's Formal with their sunglasses on; then had the nerve to walk out to get MORE drinks and lap dances because it was too long and they were BORED! WTF?!? That was utter disrespect not to mention down right TACKY.

And to top it off...Jordan and Mara got dressed, put on a game face and actually showed up at the initiation when they KNEW they no intentions of going through with it. They put a cloud over the Initiation for all the other young women who truly wanted to be there.

I agree... they only wanted to be on television. I hope they see how stupid they look.

Off the soap box now...LOL

Everyone try have a wonderful day despite of the todays date now represents.

Sorority Life Reunion

Sorority Life 1 Reunion Show

The cast of Sorority Life 1 is back and ready to voice more “concerns” at the Sorority Life Reunion. See what Jordan and Mara have been up to since they decided not to go through with initiation and find out what Candice, Amanda and Dede have to say about the joys of Sigma sisterhood.

The Sorority Life Reunion airs Saturday, February 15 at 2:00 p.m. ET.

Sorority Life 2 Premieres Wednesday, February 26 at 10:00 p.m. ET.

This season, Sorority Life 2 features the Delta Xi Omega sorority from the University of Buffalo ("DZO" for short). The DZOs are a local sorority in Buffalo. They were founded in 1988 by 13 women at the University of Buffalo. The founding sisters decided that being a local scorority, rather than a national one, would give the organization the freedom to develop as the founders envisioned it. The DZOs strive to achieve strong school spirit, enchance their academics, help women to obtain their goals, be involved in community work and the establish life-long ties.

There is actually a black girl in this sorority!

I see one of the girls in DZO is from my area. This should be interesting to say the least.

There is also an AfAm pledging on Fraternity Life.

Come on now let's not judge. She is not rushing she is an actual sister so she clearly has her reasons. I guess her sisters are her peoples.

I'm sort of chuckling, because I like Gen. Powell and loathe Justice Thomas.

But speaking as a member of an NPHC organization, not everyone is cut out to be an NPHC sorority woman or fraternity man. So I am not offended if a kid such as Steve chooses to "rush" a local w/o any cultural connections.

As an aside, people like Steve and Lafonya aren't all that uncommon. Thanks to integration and open housing laws, you have a cohort of kids like them who are raised (in Steve's case) in areas which are 10 percent AfAm or less.

I may watch this show, although I'm far too old to be MTV's target demographic.

I feel you on that because this discussion was started before. I guess I can't relate because I have such a strong sense of pride in my race that I don't know if I could NOT join orgs. and the like that were established for us, by us. That's all. But if it's cool with them....

But you know, is it really any different from the white members of BGLO's? Is it the person who joins an organization of another race confused, or the persons who voted them in, or does it really matter? I personally would not join an organization whose race is predominately different from mine.

Well, I feel much the same. I was one of these kids who didn't necessarily grow up in a black milieu and even as an adult, don't completely have stereotypically black interests, but I love the idea of being in something positive and constructive for us, by us.

Yes, I watched last night. To me, this seems to be better than Sorority Life One. Fraternity Life is also very interesting. I can't believe that one guy tried to pledge after already being in a fraternity somewhere else. Next week, it looks like there is even MORE drama ahead.
