I go to UF (University of Florida). For us, I've heard FU or U Fail (it's a challenging academic party school, so lots of people do). For FSU , I've heard Florida's Slacker University, Failed the SATs U, Free Sex U, and the Criminoles (instead of Seminoles).
There's Saint Petersburg Junior College near Tampa, which is on Drew Street, and the students there call it Drew U. We call it Some People Just Can't (get into a real college, pass high school, etc.).

Not a nickname, but there was (is?) a business school in Colulmbus named Bliss College. We used to say, "Ignorance is Bliss."
And we all called Ohio U. "Harvard on the Hocking."

My My..how times have changed! While at any given moment you can find a drunk kid in Price Center, you also are guarenteed to find the library packed with pre-meds at 11:30 on a Friday night. Girl, PM for updates on your alma matter. Haha.

For University of Michigan Dearborn, some people say Ummm-D, or UofM-Kuwait (Dearborn is the most Arabic populated city in the U.S...this one is not offensive). Us Phi Mus say Dearborn-E cuz we ordered shirts for our Teeter-Totter-a-Thon and they spelled it Dearborne.
Some other Michigan schools:
Western Michigan University= Wastern
Henry Ford Community College= Hank High, Henry Ford High

'round here...
okay here's my deal
i go to fairmont state college, and our campus is about 1 regular university building wide, (our buildings are small, and we really have 3 buildings wide, but they are SMALL!) and it goes STRAIGHT up a hill, like mad hills, the more i think about it, i can't think of a level area on all of campus. we're big on teaching, and criminal justice, and nursing, but it's pretty much where the flunkies go until they have the grades to get into a bigger school, or where people like me go when they don't want to spend a bunch of money on thier bachelor's degree, and are going somewhere sweet for grad school ~~
anyway - we've become the harvard on the hill
yea, great
anyway - while i lived in orlando i always heard that at university of central florida "U Can't Finish"
that's all i have for now...

This thread is funny. I had heard of USC as the University of Spoiled Children. It seems that so many schools are the Harvard of something.

University of Tennessee - UT Vols - Go Big Orange
We always were complaining about the outragous fees and prices - so we were always getting "the big orange screw"

There really aren't any nicknames for Long Beach State...The unofficial nickname is "The Beach", because we are the only university in the nation to have the word beach in our name.
But here are some more fun ones....
Modesto Junior College (near where I grew up)......
Harvard By the Highway
Stanford in the Sticks
UC MC
Stanislaus State (again near where I grew up)......
Turkey Tech
Cal State Dominguez Hills.....better known as
......CSU Compton ...because that is where it is basically located
Everybody keeps calling USC - University of Spoiled Children....but to those of us who actually live around there, it is better known as
University of South Central because it is convientially located in South Central (also known as Watts) Los Angeles

As far as I know, we don't have any for Eastern Michigan University...unless you just call it emu, like the bird (that one part in BNL's "If I had a million dollars" is held close to our hearts ) . We just make fun of Ypsilanti in general because the town truly sucks. Some of the ones I've heard are Ypsi-tucky and my personal favorite, Shit-silanti
