well I am the newly elected membership director for my chapter of OPA, and I was wondering if yall had any ideas for RUSH themes. I am really excited for the opportunity to do this, because I am hoping to get a large amount of girls coming into RUSH in the fall of '08?!? any ideas?

I'm an OPA alum. Like others already said, you can find places that will do custom greek work, and the more you buy, the less it will per person.
As for the person above, what have been past rush themes? Just curious...I can let you know what my chapter has done in the past.....

Are you from Georgia Southern? You can introduce yourself at the OPhiA forum. I'm a alumna from Chi.
But I don't have any rush ideas. Haven't done a rush in seven years.

Lets see....
Our chapter is new since 2006, and yes I am from Georgia Southern.
We had a construction theme, using nuts and bolts to find big/littles
We had a camp ophia this semester spring '08.
I actually jsut joined they forum, I am waiting for that email thingy so I can officially join it.

Here are some themes that Phi has done:
-the semester I pledged, they did a FRIENDS theme. Rush shirts were black, and on the front said "OMEGA PHI ALPHA" and in between each letter was a dot, like how they do it during the show's opening credits and the dots were in OPA colors. On the back it said, "We'll Be There For You" and on the very bottom of the back of the shirt it says "National Service Sorority"
-we also did a cowgirl theme "Yippee! O-phi-A!!!" and for one of our rush events we had a ho-down!
-they've also done a Pirates theme, and I believe last semester they did "Click your heels and get carried away...to O-phi-A" as in clicking those ruby slippers!

The only rush theme I can remember is "Rush like it's 1999".
I'm really showing my age now.

Some rush themes we did were "Under the Sea", "Flying High with OPhiA", "Service in the City", and other rushes were not themed (I remember one we just decorated with old event shirts and photos).
I've also sent you a PM --- I'm your chapter's TLC and I'd love to talk with you all more about rush

Go figure... I kid you not

The last half makes me giggle.
However, I'll say that as a member of OPA, the sorority founded by OPA, and who had a male interested in pledging our organization because our unviersity's APO chapter went defunt, we were open (and could not discriminate) to his being male in our sorority.
We would similarly, though, have to refer to him as a sister.
