Yay! I am so glad this soap has been revived. I am glad that they decided to start fresh. I think some of the old story lines got a little ridiculous, and it would have been difficult to try to pick them up and save what was left. The new characters seem interesting, and I like the high level tie in to the the past.

I'm almost embarrassed to ask, but how does one pronounce the name of the university?
And "Kiaterria." That name.

The episodes are too short. As soon as the story is about to pick up that's the end. I guess I'm just use to the good ole days.

one of the last scenes was PJ coming over to Appak Univ to visit Johanna, and on the bus she meets a soror who speaks of their line, and that is where she sees Johanna pledging. They speak but the soap stopped at that point.

Yes there is an Appak U. and a few Ahpla students transferred there, including Gwen after breaking up with Calvin. And Jahanna was on line for Alpha Kappa Alpha at Appak. She transferred b/c she couldn't join at Ahpla. She was talking to her brother (I forgot his name) and she was saying how her line sisters were getting on her nerves when PJ comes in to her room saying that she didn't know that pledges could have phone priviileges and promptly hung up the phone.
Also, the Kappa that contracted an STD from Shareesa was Gregg. Towards the end of season 4, Shareesa was dating Ahmad and they broke up b/c she brought him to a social event for her job and lied about what Ahmad did- he was a college student.

As much of an ATSB junkie I am I have yet to read the 1st ep.
I agree with everyone else about the jump in time.
I need to know why Mona was not hanged or something. What the hell is up with Trina/Ronnie/Caryn. I wanna know is Gregg (Kappa) still chasing PJ.
Oh well.....I'm gonna read these eps and come back tomorrow.
All of these new characters......

The new one's up. Just when it gets to drama, it's over.

i read this last episode in 45 seconds. im over it. i understand you have to drag a story out, but nothing really happened in the last couple episodes to move the story along.

I thought it was just me at the bolded part. We're still at the Convocation (or whatever). Don't tell me this whole thing will take the first 10 episodes. Plus, we haven't been properly reintroduced to Mona and her antics. Mona should be entertaining us this coming Thursday. I really don't need to be sure to meet all of the characters before drama ensues.
If this was any other random soap, I'd ditch it. Since this is ATSB, I'm really trying to ride this out. The best juice so far is Taylor. Bold enough to be a white woman in a historically black sorority at a HBCU, but she picks the one black man that's not bold enough to embrace her in front of the rest of the world. Just sad...but fun to watch.

Mona is SO buggin. i smell an upcoming revolt!
i wanna know what's up with the treasurer. why the Zeta gotta be wrapped up in budget problems?
ETA: im just waiting to see how the writers justify Mona's asinine rules. none of it makes sense in relation to ANYTHING.
