Re: the original topic...I only know of one person who met her husband online, and now he's her ex-husband. However, I really think it depends on what kind of person you are and what kind of sites you use, as someone mentioned before. This lady that I was referring to has been married multiple times (like, more than 4, but I don't know exactly how many) and she isn't known for choosing the most reliable men. So, I think if you want to give it a shot just make sure you use the "nice" sites and use good judgement, just like you would if you were dating the traditional way.

Hell, I have that thought in regards to dating quite a bit.

I think it's a pain in the ass.....

I have to SO agree here.

For me it would be:

Thank god I never married any of the men I've dated.......

If you really don't have time to date, then someone else can your match. That is what that site is all about.

My sister met her husband online. She just thought it was one way to meet someone. It worked for her.

One of my best friends met his fiance(e?) through eharmony about a year or two ago. Everything worked out at first but now it's starting to fall apart. He was in the military and met her then while he was stationed overseas. They now live in Washington but now are in the process of breaking up. But hey, it's a relationship and that stuff happens I guess.

Oh, I also just finished reading this thread...my head hurts now...thanks people, heh.

AlphaFrog- I agree with you, I'm glad that part of my life is over too! I personally never liked the whole dating thing, finally free!

I really dont know why you offend people so badly. But you do. I took no offense to what you said. I cant see how someone would.

I dont date online because I am afraid that some psyco bitch is going to cut my head off and have sex with my dead body and then throw me in a ditch to be found by a trucker taking a piss.

Oh no, those are just hitchhikers! People you meet online are nice and trustworthy.

My mom's been dating a guy she met on-line for 4 years, and one of my good friends is in love with a guy she met on match.com... but I prefer the old fashioned way of seeing someone face to face first before dating them!

I understand that it works for some people; more power to them. If you find a great person online, then good for you.

Personally, I wouldn't have done it. That's just my own feeling on the subject.

I've been to a few weddings for friends of mine or my boyfriend's who met online. I'm not sure what I think of it for me, but if it works for other people, then more power to them.

I met a guy on line at random about four years ago. We had talked for about two and a half years when he decided to fly out here. He lived in Boston. Everything went well. We are still good friends.
