It's starting to feel like it's snowing every day lately. And it's only December. Yikes!

It's almost too cold here to snow, I wish it would snow instead of icing everywhere!

It's in the single digits, and there's sprinklings but nothing is sticking (except to the hood of my new car...and ice, lots of ice on my windshield). It's weird.

ME!!!!!!!!
I want to move back to South Florida so bad. I really miss it on days like this when I have to start my morning with scraping ice off my windshield.

I'm not a meteorologist (I don't have the cheesy smile for it), but it can definitely be too cold to snow - IIRC there is a temp range in which snowfall is 'maximized', and below a certain level snow will not escape clouds readily.

Science is awesome.

I know the closer it is to 32 the better the snow. The colder it gets the harder it is for it to snow as is evident here in Indy currently.

Yep. The warmer the air, the more moisture it can hold. The colder, the less moisture the air can hold. You need moisture in the air for it to snow or rain. The temp difference also explains how you get dry powerdy snow vs. wet heavy sticky snow. The temperature at which such snow was made. Generally speaking, it wont snow below about 24 - 25 degrees F.

Which of course it was up here today.... again also the reason why Tim Hortons Coffee is soooo popular up in Canada - we need it.

Our 6-12 inches we were supposed to get Sunday night turned out to be about 1-2 inches. I hate it when they tell everyone to expect a ton and we get nothing. We're supposed to get more Thurs. night, but we'll see if we actually get anything.

This is EARLY snow for Virginia! We usually don't get it til the new year. The freaky thing is that the farmer's almanac predicted the snow for Monday and later this week. It says we're going to get a lot of snow in January and February, so hopefully it will be right I love snow.

we got 3 inches from aorund dinner time yesterday to the wee hours of this morning - and they let us out 2 hours early yesterday and we had a 2 hour delayed opening this morning -

I KNEW I moved to maryland for a reason!

(I LAUGHED at my co-workers - freaking out over 3 inches... we're still be going to class and it would be NOTHING if I were still up in NH!)

We got out of work yestarday b/c of snow. I like snow now. As long as it doesn't ice, which it usually does in after the new year.

Last night we got "the storm that wasn't". The forecasts had said 5-7" at one point. We got less than an inch.

There is already the "pre-buzzing" about the storm that will hit Virginia this Thursday evening...could I really have two days off in one week?

You know, some of my co-workers follow the Farmer's Almanac every year and swear by it. This year may be the one that really makes me wonder if I should be picking up my own copy next year. How is it so accurate?! Very weird!
