I love Vegas...it has been too long since our last trip, but my husband was in Korea for a year and then deployed to Iraq for another years, so we are due. I am taking him there for his birthday in under 2 weeks--10days to be exact! He has no idea which is the best part. We're staying at TI this trip and then when we go back in April, we're staying at the Venetian--can't wait can't wait!

13 days until I leave for Vegas and Miss America! I've got a room at the Imperial Palace, which is just a monorail stop or two away from the Aladdin, where the pageant will be.
Viva Las Vegas!

10 days from now and I'll be in Vegas, can't wait for a weekend away--changed our reservations to Mandalay Bay--had better rates than TI believe it or not.
Anyone have any suggestions for some good shows or clubs to hit--we are there on a Sat and Sunday nite and will be back for a week in April. I haven't been since summer of 2002, so I know there has been a lot of new stuff that has opened since then.

Tri-d ---
at Mandalay, they have this place called Fix, its up on one of the top floors, its a restaurant then turns into a night club. GORGEOUS view. umm.. they redid 54 (my favorite ) so you should check that out .... The Wynn has 2 new clubs - Tryst, and the lounge Lure, both VERY nice, we were just at the open bar industry party at Tryst and i fell in love, and of course ghostbar at the palms. i think every tourist wants to go there personally, im not a big fan, but its still cool. Maybe Body English at the Hard Rock? I'm trying to think of the ones that are right there in that vicinity for you, in case you dont have a car - definitely dont want to walk down the strip in heels. OH! and JET inside the Mirage just opened and i've heard nothing but good things!
PM me if you have any questions or anything, or if you want me to try and get you on the list for any of these. I have a friend at Wynn that works for the clubs, and a bunch at 54, and i'd be more than willing to help!

Tri-D: Check out any of the Cirque du Soleil shows. They're a bit on the pricey side, but well worth what you spend for them.
<shameless plug>
Of course, you'll also be there during Miss America, so you may want to try getting tickets for the preliminary nights. Saturday night final, afaik, is sold out.

We saw Zumanity. It was awesome, if you're not scared of that sort of thing

Now Rudey. Yes we have prostitutes, but the legal prostitutes are not in town as it is illegal in counties with a population over 100,000. So Reno and Vegas, not legal. However it is only a hop skip and jump about 80-100 miles to the closest whore house. If you are a high roller some casinos will take you there free of charge.

What a bunch of phooey lol. It's not legal, so they just look the other way.
All along the strip there are Mexicans handing out cards for "Escorts". So even if it's not legal, it's done very often while the police look the other way.

'Brothel' is the officially accepted word for those bawdy houses of ill repute over on the other side of the Clark/Nye county line.
If anyone wants to know where to legally get their ashes hauled... drive west on Blue Diamond Road (NV 160) until you get into Nye County, turn left at Homestead Road and follow it all the way to the end for the Chicken Ranch. (Never been there, but as a former Vegas local, it was common knowledge for many. )
