I was talking about being able to fill stadiums with people singing your songs before the album comes out in another language. Puerto Rico was the country that I am talking about -- though she is from New York, the spanish speaking community is drawn to her because she draws them in and speaks their language.

Oh, and about singing like a three year old learning the alphabet, the Olsen Twins have the monopoly on those CDs . . . the little billionaires.

And, I've always agreed that her azzz ain't that "phat" either I had a big booty before it was in (and I'm thin--it's called being Black/Ethnic, Honeyyyyy!!! She can dance, but that's it. Her acting is mid-range, and her singing is a travesty.

The only thing she excels at is marketing herself and persuading people into believeing she is beautiful/multi-talented, when she is not...
There are a ton of people who are prettier than Halle Berry, but she is the one who gets all of the hype. There are many people who are more talented than Julia Roberts, but she is the one with the tag of America's Sweetheart. I don't see the hype of Cameron Diaz or Angelina Jolie either. There is something about all of these people that makes them what they are. If the people who are more talented and prettier than Jennifer Lopez would get some representation, then perhaps those girls who are twice as pretty can be thrust into the forefront as well.

Okay, J-Lo
1)Looks: without a doubt she is pretty--but not the most beautiful Latina celeb she is obviously hyped up to be...Salma Hayek has her beat hands down.
2)Personality: Hmmm...I do not think she is as genuine as she thinks she is. Examples: (1)Has said she doesn't want to be called J-lo because the name has been overpopularized (probably masking the success and popularity she thinks should be attached to Jennifer Lopez) and every time her mom thinks she's having a "diva" tirade says something in the area of "Oh, sorry J-lo." or "That must be a J-lo thing."(2) Has said "I'm just Jenny from the block" and "I'm real." The sad thing about these two statements is I think she actually believes them. J-Lo honey, the Papparazzi wouldn't follow you if you were just Jenny from the block. If you were real and truly the average everday woman you put yourself out there to be, would you really even present the love of your life Benny Boy with a pre-nup.(3)The ni**a comment she made in the I'm Real is offensive, no matter what she thinks. If you're not black you don't even need to think about using it. Look at Eminem, with all his craziness he has the wisdom not to use the n-word.
3)Talent:J-lo has talent...Selena was her BEST movie, her acting was the BEST in this movie, her dancing was SOME of her BEST, and her singing was the BEST in this movie. Wait in Selena she pretended to be Selena... she used Selena's dance moves ...Selena's voice was actually used in the movie. Oh my gosh...I don't think J-lo has that much talent...hmm maybe I should go out and buy an old Selena cd. Again Salma got her beat.
4)Relationship: Her business...but I must say they say a sucker is born everyday...if Ben marries her (especially with that outrageous pre-nup) he will be at the top of her sucker list right above Puffy (for STILL wanting her back, for playing himself on Behind the Music by saying "I'll always love Jennifer," and for offering to buy Bennie Boy & J-Lo matching Rolls Royces as a wedding presents).

Disclaimer: I still give J-lo a few props, if you can persuade the world you are that good you're okay in my book.

We get it!!! We know that you're from the Bronx. Nobody forgot!

actually...i was thinking how she didn't really look ethnic to me any more. she really looked like a valley girl, "jenny". imo, she's looking more white than anything...but let her tell it, she's still jenny from the block.

also, ben strikes me as very controlling

the ni**a comment...

I don't approve of the usage of the ni**a word in any context, by any person. However, as far as Jennifer saying it, there are a LOT of Latinos and Caribbean people that use that term the same way that Blacks do. When I was in Miami recently, I heard that word a lot amongst the Puerto Ricans and Domincans. So, maybe they have claimed it to be their own as well and she was just trying to relate to her own people, bot us...Just a thought

Remember, many Puerto Ricans and most Dominicans have African genetic material (see the Blacks and Latinos thread in this forum). I also don't use that word or condone it. But it wouldn't be an issue, perhaps, if our rappers and those who can influence younger people would stop using it.

J. Lo, Affleck to Wed in Calif. on Sunday
21 minutes ago

NEW YORK - Ben Affleck (news) and Jennifer Lopez (news) are getting married Sunday at the Four Seasons Biltmore Hotel in Santa Barbara, Calif., according to the mother of another woman who's getting married there the same day.

"It will be at the hotel," Vivian Terhark of Spooner, Wis., told ABC News Radio. Terhark said she knows this because guests at her daughter Julie Ann's wedding are being told to carry their invitations at all times to avoid being mistaken as crashers at the celebrity nuptials.

"As the mother of the bride, I had to hand-carry my invitation because of security purposes," Terhark told ABC.

Affleck, Lopez and their publicists have refused to comment on their plans. So has the oceanside Four Seasons hotel, where deluxe rooms go for up to $2,000 a night.

This will be the third wedding for Lopez, 33, and the first for Affleck, 31, who met while filming this summer's infamous bomb "Gigli."

Oops wedding postponed

Jen & Ben's Wedding Postponed

September 10, 2003
Entertainment Tonight has broken the news that the JENNIFER LOPEZ/BEN AFFLECK wedding has been postponed.

Three sources have confirmed the stunning news to ET. Apparently, Ben and Jen felt that too many details of the ceremony had been uncovered by the media. Despite the couple's effort to keep the wedding under wraps, fine points of the celebration, including the location of the vows and the reception, began to leak at a break-neck pace. And hotel rooms in and around the usually quiet seaside town of Santa Barbara, CA, were sold-out as the media moved in.

About 400 guests had been invited by phone and were told to be in Los Angeles on Saturday. The plan was only then would the invitees be told where to go for Saturday's rehearsal dinner and Sunday's nuptials. Today, the guests received a phone call telling them not to come to Los Angeles, the wedding is off.

The quaint Spanish-style stucco church of Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Montecito was said to be where the two stars exchanged their vows. Then guests were then rumored to move to the multi-million dollar estate, "Sotto Il Monte," for the reception. BRUCE WILLIS, JACK NICHOLSON, CHRISTIAN SLATER and his wife RYAN HADDON were reportedly among those invited to the celebrity wedding of the year.

Stay tuned to ET all this week for the all the 411 on Jen and Ben's nuptial news!

Question

If they are SO IN LOVE why not elope? That way they can have all the privacy they want. They could even invite immediate family and call it a day. Afterwards go ahead throw a big, lavish reception. They are starting to get on my darn nerves!!!

I heard it was 'postponed' indefinitely because J. Lo wants Ben to sign a pre-nup that states if he cheats, she will get HALF

WHATEVA

J-Lo is SUCH the drama queen who knows why she really postponed it. If she were smart and less dramatic she would do how the late Caroline and JFK Jr. did and just tell your immediate family and have the wedding in the middle of nowhere.

One would think that being this is her THIRD wedding she would opt for the less obvious approach.
