This year has been so quiet. I've missed having pnms going through.
Looking forward to hearing how everyone did!

What time do you get to pick up your bid? The oh-so-helpful Panhellenic website gives a vague time of sometime between 5p and 6p.

We were told to meet at Foellinger at 4:30 pm because they have a few things to go over before the bids are passed out.

4 pref parties would be SO weird.
Also, I'm glad to hear numbers in the high 50's...over the years, it seems that the number of PNM's has been pretty steady, so quota in the 50's = good year, quota in the 40's = bad year, as far as PNM retention rates.

DBB - I did hear retention was bad this year. I have a PNM going through. She said her group started with 75 PNMs and was down to 61 for prefs. She said the rumor mill is in full swing with stories of 500 girls having dropped. I'm sure it isn't that bad, but I'm interested to hear the numbers.

Waiting for it to be official
Daughter only put one house down for pref and she did not get an email not to go to bid night. So it should be all good! She felt really torn on what to do had a good visit at her first house yesterday wasn't interested at all in the third house and wanted the second one. But she said her visit wasn't good at second house. felt like she had to carry the whole conversation.
She decided one person didn't make the house and all her visits up to then had been so good decided to just go with it.

FWIW, 14 women dropping in a group of 75 is about a 81% retention rate. If that's consistent across all of the PNM groups, that's actually better than what U of I does (about 70-75%).
I would not be surprised if the drop out rate ends up being around 70% or so with a new chapter recolonizing. But yes I agree, 500 drop outs seems extreme, lol

I talked to my cousin and told her to report where her fiance's niece (who I mentioned in my first post) ended up. I'm too excited about this :/

Keep in mind, with retention at Illinois, that a lot of women sign up at the last minute, don't know about going Greek, etc., so while I'm sure plenty drop out because they don't like their invites, I recall a huge number of women on my dorm floor just kinda deciding the whole thing wasn't for them.
