Those are just horrible! I can't believe any sorority would approve them.

Stuff like this makes all the exhortations to only patronize licensed vendors kind of ring hollow. We made sweatshirts in our living room while drinking adult beverages that were more professional than this. If sororities really want to impress on their members to not buy unlicensed stuff, they need to make sure the licensed stuff isn't utter shit.

I have no idea how licensing works, but I feel as though they were approved on the idea, and hadn't actually shown any products. How else does this get okayed??

Applicants for a license have to submit a product description and a sample, but they submit them to Affinity Marketing, not to the GLOs themselves. I would be very surprised if Affinity Marketing forwards the samples on to each GLO.

I'd be curious to hear about any responses received by anyone who complained to their sorority's HQ.

Holy crap those are fugly. All the "red" sororities are exactly the same! And the shoes look really uncomfortable. I will retroactively deactivate if I see pictures of my chapter wearing these at rush, seriously (but not really).

Also, KKG's are the closest to being pretty, but they also have the colors that are easiest to use well.

Holy cow! I looked at the pictures on my phone, previously, and somehow I missed this one. It literally took my breath away!

http://www.herstar.com/collections/s...rystal-pumps-1

The description is good, too: Utterly captivating, Limited Edition, authentic HERSTAR™ Custom Fully Strassed Crystal Pumps. Encrusted, dazzling, and intensely mesmerizing with every step, this pair of elite pumps commands a presence of its own. Fully hand strassed in luxurious and hand selected Middle Eastern Crystals, then offset by a sky-high 6” heel and 3" internal platform; these glittering heels glisten wherever you wear them. They are simply magical to behold. Step into these shimmering, sparkling pumps and be ready to light up your own runway. Also Available in Swavorski Crystals. These shoes are CUSTOM made and require an ESTIMATED 10-12 weeks to produce. Yes they are absolutely worth the wait.

Better plan ahead, if you're wearing these babies for fall recruitment!

Has anyone actually read the descriptions? This one from Delta Delta Delta's shoes:

*PRE-ORDER ONLY* (Minimum order quantity of 500)

DUE TO THE HIGH VOLUME OF ORDERS, THESE SHOES ARE AVAILABLE FOR PRE-ORDER ONLY. PLEASE BE PREPARED TO WAIT 8-10 WEEKS FOR THE SEASON’S HOTTEST ITEM, IF YOU DON’T WANT TO WAIT, DON’T ORDER, BUT YOU WILL ALSO BE LEFT OUT OF THE COOL CLUB :-D

This one for AGD:

Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority High Heels by HERSTAR are the biggest craze on campuses around the country. These greek heels are a must for rush week, and day to day sister life. Stand out in your chapter with incredible Alpha Gamma Delta gear.

I like how they're spinning it - due to high demand - if there was high demand they could mass-manufacture on speculation of purchase.
I sent a picture of the Tri Delta ones to my boss. I'm sure I'll be seeing her wearing them around the office any day now.

Re: the Sigma Kappa shoes, I sent them a friendly note:

"You used Kappa Sigma (a fraternity) colors and symbols for the Sigma Kappa sorority shoes. Are you sure you're an "official" licensed vendor?"

I actually got a quick response: "Thank you so much for making us aware of this error! We really*appreciate*it! "

I give them credit for being so polite to my snarky note!

Funny, I got an identical response after asking them to switch them to Kappa Sigma....

You're welcome Sigma Kappas!

Maybe everyone else should claim that their colors/symbols are incorrect so they can be removed...at least for a little while... lol
