Guess what, cupcake? I also post like I text - but you see, the difference is I text like an educated person. Also, if I were trying to convince people that I wasn't an academic loser with no business thinking of joining a sorority I would make sure my posts were pluperfect.

eta - MC, this semester I received my first academic paper with text speak in it. I wanted to cry.

Apparently, you aren't very good at reading between the lines (though a few of us have flat out said it to you) when we say you will NOT be successful going through sorority rush. Even the house that struggles for numbers--I guarantee won't take you. You are a liability. No one wants to take the girl with the poor grades.

Many times, girls receive open bids AFTER they have gone through formal rush. They may have set their sights on a sorority that didn't bid them, or dropped out before signing a bid, or dropped out for other reasons. Suffice it to say, they didn't "choose that sorority only" to begin with.

OR, a woman may receive an open bid because she knows the majority of the sisters. For example, my chapter had many sisters who were in band. They often gave open bids to girls who were also in band without the girls going to a single party, since everyone knew them already.

If you don't know the majority of the sisters well OR have not checked out all the other sororities previously, trying to COB for one sorority only is not a good idea. It makes you look 1) stalkery and obsessed or 2) like you think getting a bid from them is easy peasy/like you heard they take anyone, so surely they'll take you.

^Is that really a good idea? If your grades are so poor (or in your words "average") then should you really be having up multiple windows while trying to study and do school work? No. Worry about school and not social media sites. If you are just NOW getting a 3.0 in junior year and you are apparently in your 1st semester of junior year--what makes you think you will continuously be able to maintain that 3.0? I doubt you will.

You said you were taking summer courses. Will they be at Bloomsburg or another school? That will play a major factor into your GPA.

Please don't say things like "guarantee" when you aren't in the chapter or involved with it.

You are right. Let me rephrase that. I am almost certain that you will not get a bid (or at least you will have a really hard time getting one).

No, it didn't have to be said. Regardless of whether the OP is a troll or not, the school-basing is unnecessary and unbecoming, as are all of the assumptions packed around it.

But if you're going to cast stones, the word you're looking for is "poorly," not "poor."

You're right. I shouldn't have said anything along those lines. I was trying to make a point and I did it in an unbecoming way. I apologize to the OP (and anyone else who has attended/ graduated from there).

yes, average for sorority women at my school. ive spoken to many. actually my school doesnt care much for if they have a high gpa...it definitely is a factor and they take pride in knowing their sorority has a good overall gpa..but they focus more on the social aspects of the girls
