Soon I will have a sword paddle made similar to this one. I can't wait.

Well since other guys did it... :P
The color doesn't come through b/c I took the pictures on my cell phone but you can still see details. Someone took better pictures but has yet to post them.
For my Big Bro
ETA: Apparently swords are popular with guys? lol We each have one in our posts!

We have a couple more swords as well. Including one that was designed to look a little bit like the Theta Chi badge. It was a giant theta with two swords crossed behind it.

Two other people in my family have done swords (that I know of). I only saw one, though but it was AWESOME. It was 100% hand carved and was a sword going vertically through our letters.

Yeah did you cut that yourself? If so it must have been a pain and a half to do so.

hahah thanks Gusteau. Never said I was embarrassed.. just that it might not compare to all of the hand done extremely creative ones hah.
But no, I didn't actually use the saw myself. I didn't trust myself at all. One of my brothers did it for me b/c he's really good with wood (can't think of better wording). The whole thing took forever and a half, though haha. He was actually amazed himself that he got into those extremely detailed parts in the handle. I did all of the sanding and many, MANY coats of finish, though.
ETA: And of course I designed it.

Here are my plaques/nonpaddles!!
I really hate that Alpha Xi's aren't allowed to use traditional paddles, I think a huge ribbon on the handle would have been so cute!! *sigh*

hopefully that link works!
