Also, I'm from San Francisco, and it's totally true about the weather thing. It's really depressing in the winter though, when I check the weather reports at home and it's like 10 degrees warmer.

Day Three....
Hello!!!
I’m so happy that the first round in finally over. Today was a little bit easier than yesterday. It was about 5 degrees colder and it seemed like everyone was getting the hang of it. Here’s the final 8 chapters:
Coach: This is where I stayed for Greek Weekend, and I really enjoyed the women and the environment overall. However, it wasn’t the same today when I visited. The girls were kind of awkward at getting the conversation to flow…as if we were going down a checklist or something. I still love this house, but I’m really glad I have more than today to base my feelings on.
Lucky: I loved this house! The girls were amazing, and those that I talked to were all really diverse. I loved getting to know them, I was really sad to leave. The especially one of the girls and I had a lot in common. Cverall everyone was really sweet. It just felt right. Defiantly one of my favorites overall.
Fireworks: This was an okay house. It was nice, but I didn’t feel like I walked away with a good feel for the house as a whole. It wasn’t really that memorable…which I guess is why I don’t really have that much to say. I walked away happy though, and it wasn't hard to talk to the girls here. I would like to come back.
Abercrombie: I have a good friend in this house. But we couldn’t be more different, so I guess I understand why I didn’t really feel that comfortable in this house. The women were all great, but I felt especially like a guest; it just didn’t feel like home. Would be interested in coming back, but wouldn’t be heartbroken if it didn’t work out.
Banana Republic: There seems to be a dominate “type” of girl that is a member of this house. They were all amazing of course, and individual in their own right, but I just could never see my self here. I loved the conversation and I could see being friends with women from here, but again, it just didn’t click.
Ralph Lauren: After having a not so amazing time at this house back at Greek Weekend, I wasn’t really super excited to see them again. But as always, my mind changed. These girls were great and we had a lot to talk about. A lot of common activities were shared and it just felt like a good time.
Northface: This was the best house of the day, maybe from yesterday too. I really had no background from this house, but every girl and I had the most amazing conversations. One women and I had such an intense conversation that were both taken back by it…I guess that happens when you just feel comfortable enough to let that happen. I really hope that I get to come back!
Gap: This house is kind of random…which is a good thing. There seems to be so many different types of girls here, which unfortunately made some of the connections between conversations kind of awkward. But overall I really liked the house, it just felt good. The time went by really quick…which I guess is a good sign!
Tonight we ranked our top 10 as our number ones, and the following 2 – 7. Here is how I ranked:
1 Northface
1 J- Crew
1 Lucky
1 Lucy
1 Anthropology
1 Fireworks
1 Mercer
1 Coach
1 Ralph Lauren
1 Gap
2 Kiehl’s
3 Victoria’s Secret
4 Abercrombie and Fitch
5 Sephora
6 Banana Republic
7 Seattle Sun
Tomorrow we get our schedule for the next two days. We get up to ten, but our RCs said to expect more in the range of 6-8. I’m so excited for house tours!!!
Oh and we were also told today that we are the largest recruitment group is ages. I forget the number, but I think it was upwards of 600. They said that the pc ’07 is going to be the biggest in UWs history…which is thought was cool

it is not true in ANY way that it will be the largest pc in uw history- "back in the day" there were over a thousand women going through

sorry, perhaps there was some confusion.
My RCs said that pc '07 for each sorority will be upwards of 40 girls. And with freshman guarenteed to live in the houses, at least nowadays....I think that is what they meant...as far as women per chapter per hosue.
I could be mistaken, that's how it was explained to be...I hope that cleared things up...
On my way to house tours!!!

Maybe they just meant "biggest in a long time".

Definitely the biggest in a very very long time. Quota was around 26 four years ago which was the smallest in a very long time. Last year quota was around 32 and we thought that was huge! I can't imagine how they are going to find beds for 40 in all the houses, unless the specific chapter has a lot of live-outs or are well below total.

Many of the houses also have an annex - ie a house behind the main house or next door that some of the upperclassman live in. I am so happy to see our numbers up in the Northwest - it looks like quota went up a lot at Washington state this year, so I'm cautiously optimistic that when it is our turn for formal recruitment at UPS in January we'll be looking forward to bigger numbers too.
Can't wait to hear your update NWgirl! Hope you had a great time today!

Day Four...
Today was such a hard day. I have met some of the most amazing women in the pnms this year at it was so hard to seem many of them so sad with getting one or two houses for house tours. We got our invitations first thing and as I was making my way to my first house I could see girls crying and calling family. It’s such a stressful and confusing time…I’m really glad that I have my family to lean on. Some of my friends are already considering dropping out. I’m glad today was scheduled to end earlier then before.
With all that said today was another really fun day for me! I was lucky enough to get 8 invitations back. Some of my other friends were thrilled to get their full 10, so it really ranged.
Today I visited four houses. Here’s what I thought:
Lucky: Again, a great day. I met three upperclassmen and we seemed to really hit it off. The house it self is beautiful, like all the houses here, but it was my first time seeing all of it. We talked a little bit about studying abroad and the conversation just really flowed. It was an easy, fun, relaxed time. I would love to come back again.
Seattle Sun: Okay, so I know that I didn’t really want to come back, but the girls here are really sweet, even if it comes off the wrong way to me sometimes. I met new women who were just so proud to be members of Seattle Sun and to show of their house, which, again, was really fun to see. I left feeling happy, but again, it just didn’t seem to click. Looking back, it was my least favorite of the day.
Banana Republic: I love the girls in this house, and I even got to chat with one girl that I had from yesterday, which just made the conversation that much easier. Not to be weird, but I was kind of shocked to hear that I got an invitation back to this house, after having a not so amazing time last round. It seemed to be a favorite among the girls in my group, and a lot of them didn’t get invited back to this round. I guess they saw something in me…which was a cool feeling. I kind of left this round like the last…sweet girls, just having a hard time seeing my self here. Beautiful house too.
Sephora: This time was sooo much better. The house that I remember from Greek Weekend was back and it was so great to meet the women. I talked to some women that were really involved here and it seemed like we had endless things to talk about. And the group of pnms and I really hit it off as we were standing in front of the house waiting. A new favorite. I was really grateful that I got a second chance with house. Being that it was my next to last on last night's preference, I guess it is true that everything happens for a reason.
Tomorrow I visit my next four:
Northface (which I’m very excited for!)
Abercrombie and Fitch
Coach
Gap
I’m kind of shocked that I got dropped from some of my top choices, just because I felt so natural there. But, I don’t know what’s going on behind the scenes and have continued faith that I’ll end up where I belong.
Thank you all for your support…I’m excited for tomorrow!
