Ok, so the VP of Marketing from my chapter sends out monthly newsletters to collegiates, alumnae, and parents....and recently she's added a "famous phi's" section. She added Jodi Sweeten (Stephanie from Full House) on it a few times, and i've tried to tell her that she isn't a famous Alpha Phi. That if she was she would be mentioned on our sorority website.
Her answer, "Well i saw it on a school's 'famous phis' section...so it must be true." No it doesn't.

Sarah Weddington is a Sigma Kappa? I may not agree with her opinion(s), but she's quite a lady.
When I was in school, the big rumor was that Peggy Fleming was an ADPi. It was such a disappointment to those of us who love figure skating!

As in many GLOs, there are tons of famous Alumni to choose from to pick a fav. Some of mine would have to be the following ladies, and each has had a connection to me growing up.
Laura Bush~ Whether you like her husband or not, this First Lady is awesome, and is always standing up for important causes dear and near to my heart such as education!
Amy Grant~ I grew up in household that listened to mix of Christian, Country, Pop music. Amy Grant has always a family favorite. My parents have old records of her's dating back to the 80s, and I even have video tapes of my little sister and I running around the living room, singing and dancing to her songs!
Kerri Strug~ I don't know about you but in 1996 all I wanted to be was a gymnast. Even though this would have never worked out because I am tall, not fexible at all, it didn't matter because I saw Kerri Strug and the US Woman's Olympic Team bring home the Gold. I will never forget being a ten year old and begging my parents to let me stay up late so I could watch the end. I was so sad when Kerri hurt herself, but did the vault again regardless!!!!!! In the mind of a sleep- deprived ten-year old, I remember going to bed that night thinking that Kerri Strug was my hero!!!
I am honored that she is fellow Theta sister!

Not so notable yet still famous SIGMA NUs
William Daniels - The Voice of KITT on Knight Rider and Mr. Feeny on Boy Meets World
Terry Kiser - Bernie from Weekend at Bernies
Josh Saviano - Paul Pfeiffer from The Wonder Years
(The Knight Rider thing is cool but Mr. Feeny?) I like them because people rarely know about these guys being Sigma Nus but I bring it up.

She's my favourite gymnast of all-time! Do you have her autobiography? I've read my copy so many times that it's falling apart. If I saw her today I'd go all squealy fangirl on her, I swear. It's funny because she says people don't really recognize her anymore or kind of do but can't place her. I was 11 when the '96 Olympics occurred and I'd turned on the telly and found the finals by accident (still living in England at the time) and actually got to see that history in the making. Incredible.

ΣΣΣ Alumnae -
My personal favorite is probably Carrie Underwood.
Also, Billie Letts the author of "Where the Heart Is".
Oh, and Linda Denham, the creater of CareBears.
Gladys Morelock was the superintendent of the U.S. Mint
Krystle Kitchen is Miss Virginia-National American 2006/2007

Harper Lee
I hate to kill the Chi-O support of Harper Lee, but the recent biography of Ms. Lee, Mockingbird, discussed her sorority (the name wasn't mentioned) and implied that she didn't fit in and didn't like it. She is a bit eccentric but a great author, though. Of course, there aren't any truly famous AOII's happy or otherwise!

Dude I told you, Courtney Kupets. I love her! Occasionally when I need a gymnastics fix I watch my 2004 Olympic gymnastics videos on my computer.

I have read Mockingbird with great interest. As you state, it is a biography...not an autobiography. Nell Harper Lee is proud of her association with Chi Omega and we are very proud of her. I heard that she sent a FAX to our HQ not too long ago and signed her note, Harper Lee, Nu Beta.

Mr. Feeny was most cool!
William Daniels also starred in both the stage and screen versions of 1776 as John Adams.

icelandelf, I've seen both of them listed (along with Reese Witherspoon - what?) on various chapter and personal websites, but in the absence of a confirmation from IHQ, I have to say no.
