Appalachian State - Possible NPC Expansion
Hello all!
Appalachian State University greek life is holding an official meeting for women interested in Panhellenic sorority expansion. This meeting will be with the greek life advisors, Aaron and Julie, on Tuesday February 20th at 5:30 in the Calloway Peak room in the Student Union.
All undergraduate women interested in the expansion are encouraged to go, as well as others from the greek community! Good luck to the wonderful group of ladies interested in bringing a new chapter to Appalachian!

That's awesome. Which sororities are currently at App State?

From their Greek Life Website it looks like they have 7 groups:
ADP, AF, CW, DZ, KD, FM, SK

Those numbers are mostly out of date though. Most are as of 2004 with only one 2006 that I saw.

No kidding
I wasn't referring to those numbers. I was referring to the numbers that can be found with the grades listed for Spring of 2006.

I know that its up to the school and the orgs to submit their package for consideration and all that. But I just need to put it out there that I would really like to see Alpha Xi Delta at least submit to be considered. I know that there is a lot of focus right now for the recol of the Kappa Chapter in Illinois, which is a huge undertaking, but I think that App State is a great school and AXiD has done a lot of expansion in NC over the last few years and this would be a great addition.
off my soap box now.

Sororities will be presenting later this month, and the final decision will be made before the end of the semester.

It is true that Alpha Omicron Pi is coming. Someone told me they are contacting the organization tomorrow to make it official! Woo hoo!
And although I'm extremely late to this board I want to say that at Appalachian there are three sororities UNDER total right now, not just one... AOPi is going to have a lot of women to choose from because I think a lot of women were having trouble finding their place in the Greek system here.

You are exactly right AppGreek, My best friend is in Phi Mu there and they are only 10 or so members away from total. They aren't the smallest on campus anymore by any means.
go phi mu~ love, honor truth.
