Dear Giada. FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS HOLY, PLEASE STOP OVER ENUNCIATING YOUR ITALIAN WORDS. IT'S IRRITATING THE LIVING DAYLIGHTS OUT OF ME!!!

Thanks for the bump. My new love is the Cooking Channel, an offshoot of the Food Network. It's back to the way the Food Network used to be without all of the reality shows and game shows (like when MTV played videos). And, the Two Fat Ladies are on re-run.

I need to find this channel! I love Two Fat Ladies!
On Food Network, all of their stars are pseudo-chefs now which is annoying. About the only show I watch is "Chopped" and half the time it annoys me, too. Guy Fieri is the worst thing on that network. I'd like to snatch those sunglasses off the back of his head and smack him with them!

I have to admit that I'm loving the Chopped "All-Stars" (a debatable term to apply here) tournament that's on right now. And I get most of my FN news from foodnetworkhumor.com

The Cooking Channel is usually with a premium tier. When I had Time Warner, it would have given me a bunch of junk channels, which I didn't want. I recently switched to another cabel company and the Cooking Channel landed in a bundle that I really wanted. Lucky me. I constantly have it on, even though there is one show with a male version of Giada that I want to reach through the TV and sucker punch.
And, I'm absolutely in love with my home-boy Michael Symon. Opening another restaurant a couple of miles from here this summer.

Completely crashing, but I saw this thread up and wondered if anyone was talking about this...
Last week, TMZ (I know, not the WaPo as far as credibility goes, but still) reported that the Barefoot Contessa was asked by the Make-A-Wish Foundation to take an afternoon to spend and cook with a dying boy who loves her show. She said no because he schedule was pretty full. She was asked again, and she still said no. So, TMZ and the Huffington Post and a bunch of other outlets started writing snippets about it, and she's now caved in and says she'll grant the wish. Amazing what negative publicity can do!

I saw the article today.
I've always found her to be snotty for some reason I couldn't put my finger on but to snub a cancer stricken child TWICE?!? Doesn't say a lot about her as a compassionate human being. Frankly, it really made me dislike her more & I refuse to watch her show. What a bitch.
I also have the cooking channel & have been watching that because it has Easy Entertaining & Jaime Oliver which are shows I always enjoyed. It also has other shows that I'm watching that I'm really enjoying. It's too bad the Food Network became like MTV & didn't stick to cooking. I'm so sick of those stupid reality type cooking shows.

Swerve/
My company upgraded our Blackberrys to Droids, so I'm having an app field day. I downloaded a Food Network app and it's great. I've always enjoyed Rachel Ray, so having her recipes at my fingertips = great

They've totally cast made-for-reality-TV types this time around. Tiffany, the poker player on Bobby's team, was also a contestant on The Amazing Race. Libby Floyd, the sequin-encrusted Southern belle who went home last night, was a longtime host on ShopNBC. Even so, I think it'll be a good season.

My husband (who has been a professional cook for over 10 years) and I caught the re-run. He was dumbfounded at some of them not being able to produce eggs and pancakes in an hour. He said besides the reduced syrups, he could have had the whole order out, including all four eggs in under 8 minutes....which is true, because his last job had a ticket timer and his average ticket time was 6 minutes.
