I saw Borat this weekend. I thought it was funny, but parts were gross. My fiancé could not stop laughing. He wants to see it again.

Yeah, I can't imagine my mom liking it. I was surprised, though, by a couple sitting next to me in the theatre. They looked old enough to be my grandparents, and they were laughing throughout the whole movie!

Great Movie.

The running of the Jews had me dying!

I'm pretty sure that the Chi Phi guys were not just playing along. I haven't confirmed it, but I have heard that they are trying to sue because they came across as such assholes...which they definitly did. I would be ashamed if I were them. The one guy (the middling fat guy) came across as a total tool bag, and then they guy commenting on minorities and women will probably never get laid again.

Yeah I read an online article about their lawsuit. I think it may've been on MSN. LOL.

I thought the movie was hilarious, but there were some points that I thought were kind of sad/upsetting. I felt really bad for the Jewish couple at the B&B that offer him their home and try to make him feel welcome with food. I felt that the anitsemetism in the film went way too far and that they were picked on way more than any other group. I also thought that the part in the antique shop was pretty horrible.
I love love loved the naked part where they are running in the conference room. omg too funny! especially if you think that they really did it and it wasn't just a bogus conference. haha

They were complete assholes. They also made USC look bad too because their hats had Cocks in huge letters. I was kind of wondering why they mentioned what fraternity they were in? Was it to give credibility that they really were fraternity guys?

Borat is too funny. S.B.Cohen is so funny! In all his movies, acts, shows... A good dose of laughter!

I know. But I bet the reason they were picked on more than any other group is that Sacha Baron Cohen is, himself, a devout Jewish man. He keeps Kosher, observes the Sabbath, and his fiancee (Isla Fisher) is converting before they get married. He was just showing how ridiculous the stereotypes of Jews are.

I see those hats all the time and I live in Michigan.

To anyone who saw the movie and was offended... why did you even go see it? You knew it was contraversial. You knew it could be offensive. That's like "Hey I know that pond has ecoli in it but I wana see what it's like so I'll just jump in anyways because everyone else is".

Well, you are suppose to be offended, everyone who sees it is suppose to be offended. That is the point of the movie and the avant garde beauty of it. If you werent offended well, then something is wrong with you, because I don't see how this movie wasnt offensive to every american who calls themselves american, and even if you know you will be offended (which you will) you should go see this movie because it says and shows a lot of important things, while being fucking hilarious at the same time!!!

Well yeah had I been any one of the groups that was picked on, I'd probably be offended. However it's one thing to go to a movie you KNOW will be offensive and laugh, and another to go to that movie and complain about it.

Well, the movie isn't explicitly about you, but you are the reason why it had to be made . . .

Are you american... if yes, then you are one of those groups that was picked on, it should little groups for a bigger picture of America. Thats the whole point. You should complain about it, you should talk about it, debate about it, be upset about it. Its the point.

Hmm... I thought the point was to make fun of stupid people and stupid stereotypes and legends (the "Running of the Jews") and for entertainment.

And yes. I'm American. And I like stupid comedies.

So I finally saw it last night and the whole theater (packed, I might add, I had to sit at the front which blew) was laughing uproariously throughout the entire film.
I have seen Borat make fun of English people so it was lovely to see him go after Americans instead. His performances at the Rodeo and the dining society were absolutely priceless.
My brother has an ipod mini and I have an ipod. Success! Ipod minis are for girls!
