These are too funny!

*So you can be sponsored to run for Homecoming King/Queen.

*So you can be conformist, unlike "goth" kids who conform to non-conformity. (ala the SouthPark episode where Stan tries to be Goth)

*So you can make all your old high school friends jealous.

*So you always have a Designated Driver at parties.

It is Greek Chat but there was a big to do over someone actually MAKING a Gamma Chi group on GC. and it was going to be elite and exclusive and I don't even know. A search will turn it up I suspect.

The other two that will get people running is SHIM and SKEPi

/don't hurt me

Free

All the free beer you can drink and free "stuff" you can smoke.

This was actually the tactic used on one of my brothers while he was visiting friends at another school. A drunk member of the fraternity decided he looked like a potential rushee.

More wrong reasons...

-So you can throw hand signs and do calls.

-So you can stroll and/or step.

-Because you like the organization's colors.

-So you can get into parties for free.

-So you can put letters on everything.

Though this is definitely not why I want to join a GLO, I have been thinking about all the things that would stand still for me to put stickers on, ordering special shirts, and even found a sticker for my mom's car the says "I'm so proud of my (insert GLO)." 12 days and counting for the info meeting!!

My mother made herself an ASA Mom shirt.

She also used to wear my HS letterman jacket. She took my colorguard jacket once, claiming WIU was her alma matter and she earned those colors. Then she tried to touch my Drumline jacket...that's where I drew the line. She did not EARN the navy and baby blue.

ETA: Now I sound like a fratty talking about earning letters.

haha my stepdad says that, but my mom put the honor sticker one on her car when I was in elementary school. I was just going to tell her that she had no choice lol I also told her if I joined Tri-Delta that she had to join Tri-Psi, the mother's club so she could be involved.

My parents hated prep school/university decals as well. I can't help but agree. Having just written the check for the oldest's first SEMESTER of college (COA slightly over $22,000 for the fall ), I'm certainly not going to give the school "free advertising"!
