I am totally loyal to Samsung phones. My first mobile was a Samsung, and I had it for almost three years...I only got rid of it because I was bored and technology had advanced. Every phone I've had since then has been a Samsung, and they've never broken apart or pooped out. I also never get dropped calls, but I don't know if that's due to the phone or the Sprint network where I live.
I've never had problems with Sprint, and I like the flexibility of its plans. For example, I still have night minutes that start at 8pm, and I don't pay anything extra for unlimited texting.

I have Verizon and I love it, the service is great and I've never had any problems with customer service... if my bill is astronomical... its b/c i've gone over my minutes.... no crazy charges or anything... plus everyone i talk to has verizon (so texting, pix, videos and calls are free)
i'm up for a new phone in about a week... and I have an LG and I like it... but i'm not sure what I want to go for... the Chocolate seems like its kind of hard to use (i guess you get used to it) and I really like the NV.... but the keyboard is a bit small....
anyone have any experience with these or any other recommendations??

My friend's on his 3rd Chocolate phone. I've heard good things about the Motorolas.
I use a BlackBerry 8800g which is nice. I use the email WAY too much, but I need it for work.

Suncom
I am in the Charlotte area as well and have Suncom. I love the fact that I can talk as much as I want for 1 rate! Their customer service is WONDERFUL....but their service is sucky at times. I have horrible reception at home, at work (basically in any building except Walmart), and my phone drops calls on bridges...crazy I know. If you can get over all of that. It is a great service. Forgot to add that I drive between Crowders and Kings Mtn. everyday...that might have something to do with it.

I have Verizon. I remember having them in 98 before they were Verizon and did they suck! I actually have no problems with them now. The only time I drop a call is when I'm at a place that just doesn't get great reception (like my parents house because they live near a mountain).
I've never really had customer service issues either. Whenever I've had to call about a bill, they have patiently explained the charges to me. Sometimes I'm right and they immediately credit my account, but most of the time I was just confused on what I was being charged and once it was explained I was like "oh okay".
I've also never had a problem getting a replacement phone. I have a pink Razr. I have insurance on it, so I just have to call Verizon and then they transfer me to Insurion (the insurance company) and I report the phone. (I've had to do it twice now, once it was stolen the second it was damaged). I only have to pay a $50.00 fee to replace the phone with the insurance.
I just really like Verizon. When I went on a cruise and my Ipod was stolen (from a Jiffy Lube no leass, right from the car) two days prior, I was still able to get service and make a call from Puerto Vallarta (to report the theft). Paying the roaming fees was definately better than making a $9.00 a minute call from the ship.

I have T-Mo. I love the service and love the phone I have (Nokia 6133). My phone is pretty cool, it has a FM radio and is an MP3 player too. I've been w/ T-Mo since 2002 and haven't had any problems. Their customer service is great also....always friendly and so willing to help. One time, I was downloading a wallpaper from the site and it didn't come through. I called customer service to help and they downloaded it immediately for me. T-Mo also has pretty good deals when it's time to upgrade as well. You usually have to get a 2 yr contract, but it's been worth it for me. I get good service around as well, it only drops calls when I'm out in random areas where no one would get reception.
