Cool

Number One, I dont think anyone is throwing barbs at anyone.

Number Two, anyone who donates Time or Money to Either Their Time or Money should be commended.

We who do are a very small % of the Total Organization or Chapter who do not.

If Any Do One Thing, it is a Plus and commendable.

Thank each of You from Me as I know what it is like.

I am an involved alumna. I am the Alumnae Association Liaison for my chapter. Our Alumnae Associations are online groups that are chapter specific that are set up by headquarters and then have an alumna volunteer from the chapter maintain the group.

I am one of the Founders and the current President of the Southern L.A. County Alumnae Chapter.

I am involved with the South Bay Alumnae Panhellenic Association and serve as Scholarshop Co-chair there.

I did serve on the national Academic Excellence committee but our job is done so that committee is not active anymore.

I pay dues to my alumnae chapter. Phi Sigma Sigma doesn't have national alumnae dues.

I've tried to be as active as possible over the past 2 years since I graduated, but it's difficult. There's no alumnae chapter near me, and the collegiate chapter in town doesn't seem to want help. I've attended conferences at Headquarters about keeping young alumnae active and participated in IMPACT (a leadership program) at the local chapter with women from all over the country. Two weeks ago my collegiate chapter (which is two hours away) held initiation, which I attended. I was asked to be the social advisor when I was there, so I'll be doing that long-distance. I wish there was more I could do. I keep up-to-date via the website and donate whenever possible (we don't have national alumnae dues or a life loyal program... yet). I wish I had an alumnae chapter nearby. There aren't enough in town to create one, but I have met a few in the area with whom I communicate. I just wish I could become more active and give back to the organization that has given me so much.

I'm a dues paying member who was very active in my grad chapter until August. Since August, I have cut back on my activities until I finish my first year of law school (I want to make sure I make it to my 2L year. This school is no joke.)

It's probably been asked before, but how many of you are actively involved with your GLO as an alum?

I am fairly involved as an alum.

Are you involved in the local, regional or (inter)national level?

More on the local level.

What do you do, specifically?

I am our rep to the local APH and I help advise one of our area collegiate chapters.

Why did you choose this area of involvement?

I love working with the collegians! Also I hope by working with collegians it will get them to stay active once they become alumnae.

Are you also a dues paying alumni member of your GLO? If so, does that mean you pay dues only to your local alumni chapter or you pay separate local and international alumni dues to be considered an active alumna? If you are not a dues paying alumni member, why not?

We pay one flat rate to our AA that covers both local and national dues.

I know that AOP, DDD, DC and SC have Life Loyal programs and I'm sure there are more. If your GLO has a "Life Loyal" type program, are you a member? If not, why not?

We do have a Life Loyal program i just haven't had the money for it yet. But I fully intend to join when I can afford it.

I eat, breathe, sleep, Gamma Phi Beta! (I wouldn't have it any other way thought ). Since being an Alumnae, I have started an Alumnae Chapter in my home town and served as the President for two years, served as a SRC-Special Recruitment Consultant, and was recently swayed to be the Recruitment Advisor for my chapter. I pay my dues, Alumnae Chapter dues and International dues. I found my niche with recruitment, I feel like it is one of the most important alumnae positions and most overlooked because it requires so much time. I have little time to spare,(i don't know how I get it done) but know how hard it is on the chapter without a proper advisor.

(I have been an Alumni since 2003)

Are you involved in the local, regional or (inter)national level?
I've been involved with the local chapter as an advisor since I graduated in 2001. I've been a member of my local Alumnae Association since 2002. I'm also a member of our online Alumnae Association.

What do you do, specifically?
I've served as Education Advisor, Marshal Advisor and currently serve as Advisory Board Chair, Chapter Council Advisor and interim House Board President. I'm also the President of our local Alumnae Association. I also serve as Webmaster for our online Alumnae Association.

Why did you choose this area of involvement?
I wanted to stay involved with my Fraternity and this was the easiest way. I would like to be more involved in the Provincial and Regional aspects in future years, but really enjoy working with the local chapter for now.

Are you also a dues paying alumni member of your GLO? If so, does that mean you pay dues only to your local alumni chapter or you pay separate local and international alumni dues to be considered an active alumna? If you are not a dues paying alumni member, why not?
Yes, I pay dues to both my local and online Alumnae Associations (though only one of those pays my per capita fee to our Headquarters). Our Fraternity requires that all Advisors be members in good standing. They can join a local Alum Association or pay their dues directly to Headquarters (which some advisors have done).

I know that AOP, DDD, DC and SC have Life Loyal programs and I'm sure there are more. If your GLO has a "Life Loyal" type program, are you a member? If not, why not?
Kappa does not have a "Life Loyal" program.

[QUOTE=ISUKappa]Are you involved in the local, regional or (inter)national level?
I am a Founding Member of My Chapter of Phi Psi and have been involved with the fraternity since that date in 1991

What do you do, specifically?
I am the Chapter Advisor for both my own Chapter (IL Zeta) and also another Chapter (IL Theta). I helped start the IL Theta Colony/Chapter. I'm on the House Corporation for both (was President of IL Zeta House Corp for 3 years). I'm the Area Alumni Director for IL/WI, I'm a dues paying member of the Chicago Alumni Association and I've been the Chairman of the Extension Committee for our Grand Arch Council over the last 4 years. Along with that, I serve on DePaul's Alumni roundtable for fraternity and sorority affairs. Also, if I'm lucky, I'll be initiated into the Order of the SC this summer at the GAC.

Why did you choose this area of involvement?
I am a firm believer that if you feel the fraternity helped you out in any way, you're obligiged to give back - either with time or money - since I've been poor for a while, time it is. Plus i enjoy dealing with the undergraduates - they keep me young and it helps me when i deal with my brothers on a national level.

Are you also a dues paying alumni member of your GLO? If so, does that mean you pay dues only to your local alumni chapter or you pay separate local and international alumni dues to be considered an active alumna? If you are not a dues paying alumni member, why not?
I pay dues to the Chicago Alumni Association. I donate to my Chapter's Chapter Scholarship Program and to the general portion of the Endowment Fund of Phi Kappa Psi. - that's how we stay life Loyal

Hope that answers your questions.

Are you involved in the local, regional or (inter)national level? What do you do specifically?

I'm a dues-paying Alumna Member ($ sent to Internationals as well as my local Alumnae Chapter).
I attend House Corp Board meetings for the local collegiate chapter at UW Madison.
I am the new President of the Madison Area Alumnae Chapter. We send out biannual newsletters and are starting to have more informal, social events for alumnae as well. Our first one last week was quite a success!
I'm visiting my initiating chapter this weekend for their benefit 5K run/walk, and am attending Convention this summer, so I kind of consider that work on the international level

Why did you choose this area of involvement?

There was a need for an active Alumnae Chapter President, and I wanted to get involved (I went alum this time last year).
I am starting out to be one of those super-involved alumnae. I like it, and I think it's appreciated so far. I'm hoping if people get too much of me, they'll tell me to tone the gamma phi-ness down a notch, haha.

Are you also a dues paying alumni member of your GLO?

Yes, there are annual dues to Gamma Phi Beta International, and each Alumnae Chapter has the option of collecting dues from participating members as well. I contribute to both, as well as a bit annually to the Gamma Phi Beta Foundation.

I know that AOP, DDD, DC and SC have Life Loyal programs and I'm sure there are more. If your GLO has a "Life Loyal" type program, are you a member? If not, why not?

We don't have any specific program called "Life Loyal," but we do try to emphasize that Gamma Phi Beta is a lifelong commitment, and there are so many oppurtunities for involvement at the alumnae level, and there are alumnae dues and chapters... hopefully sisters choose to continue to participate.

Yes I am an active alumni member of my local chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, I tend to move around a lot so it is a great way for me to become locally involved with my community in rendering service and meeting new Sorors in the process. We also have recognition for members who have affiliated with the sorority for a number of years and life membership. I am working toward an anniversary goal- and maybe then I will consider life membership.

Are you involved in the local, regional or (inter)national level?

Local and international with the hope of helping out at the regional level in a year or so.

What do you do, specifically?

I am finishing my fourth year as chapter adviser (ATC) for the local collegiate chapter. I also coordinate the monthly young alumnae activities for our local alumnae chapter and I'm starting a new program for our philanthropy on the international level.

Why did you choose this area of involvement?

When I moved here after graduating from college, I didn't know anyone. I needed to meet people and DG needed advisers for the local collegiate chapter. It was a win-win proposition. Now I can't imagine not volunteering with DG in one way or another.

Are you also a dues paying alumni member of your GLO? If so, does that mean you pay dues only to your local alumni chapter or you pay separate local and international alumni dues to be considered an active alumna? If you are not a dues paying alumni member, why not?

I pay dues to our local chapter as well as our Executive Offices.

I know that AOP, DDD, DC and SC have Life Loyal programs and I'm sure there are more. If your GLO has a "Life Loyal" type program, are you a member? If not, why not?

DG doesn't have a "Life Loyal" program that I'm aware of. I try to support the Delta Gamma Foundation with monetary donations when I can and I always support Foundation efforts with my time.

Gamma Phi Delta Sorority, Inc.

Are you involved in the local, regional or (inter)national level?

I'm helping my region establish a chapter locally.

What do you do, specifically?

I am the assistant coordinator & recruiter for my prospective chapter. Meaning, I am in charging of planning events, meetings and fullfilling all the needed requirements to become a chapter. I'm also in charge of locally recruiting new and inactive members.
And I am the webmistress for my undergraduate chapter's website.

Why did you choose this area of involvement?

Well, I was inactive in my sorority for awhile, because I no longer lived where my chapter I was. And me and my regional directors agreed that the only way for me to become active again was to join a chapter that was closer to my home. So I decided to locally help them with this mission that they've been struggling with since '04.

And I started my UG's website back in '03 and our website has won national acclaim within our sorority. They like what I do so much that they asked me to continue on for another year.

Are you also a dues paying alumni member of your GLO? If so, does that mean you pay dues only to your local alumni chapter or you pay separate local and international alumni dues to be considered an active alumna? If you are not a dues paying alumni member, why not?

I still pay my dues. It's kind of pricey, but I pay chapter, local and regional dues.
