Dissing other Greeks in step shows. Good 4 greek life or bad?

I was at that same show Proverbs31 and OhioCentaur are referring to and yes I was quite surprised by all the personal jabs. I think the callin people out by name was very over the top and unnecessary. I had never seen a pro show like that. It was quite interesting. I don't know much about the dynamics of greek life at OSU ( I am a grad student at OSU and very removed from the greek life on the campus) , but from that show I definitely can conclude that there is some animosity between the greeks on the yard! Sad but sometimes that's the way the cookie crumbles.

I dont feel that it will help unity no... i NEVER said that HOWEVER I do feel people reach their breaking point and ours showed at the show. I'm not on campus all like that so the personal jabs were new to me. I didnt know half the people they were talkin bout but i do know that the stroll competition was rigged... how else do the two teams already known to go at it in the competition get the worse song of the two?? Then to change the rules at the end... and how do you explain the two different sized pieces of paper for the songs? I'm not blaming you personally but it just wasnt looking above board at all. But i would like you to PM with the personal jabs you feel wasnt necessary... and the slapped Iota down... i'm referring to your soror who attacked my ace without reason just because your in a fight doesnt mean you hit the closest person to you. Theres no explaining that one away.

PS.. Greeks are doing things in the name of "Unity" that have nothing to do with Unity at all.

The Greeks have been unified since about 1930. It's called the NPHC / Civil Rights Movement / etc...

I was at the same proshow as well, and i feel dat the personal jabs that were used throught out the show were cool. You have to take it into consideration...FRATERNITIES these days, esp on the campus of Ohio State, have ALOT of anomisity between them. Yea there is SUPOSED to be unity, bt ppl let the personal beef wit another member of a different organization get involved then next thing u know, its organization against organization. I have been to 2 Iota proshows, 1 Kappa proshow, and 1 Alpha proshow, all at Ohio State, and each and every show had their jabs to the another Frat as a whole, and also to certain individuals. I enjoyed the Iota's proshow this year, just as i did last year. I do feel that the iota's did the right thing in expressing their feelings towards all the beef, the lies, and the scandals that has been taking place on that campus. Like wit the "paper" Alphas, now we ALL knw that EVERY frat couldnt wait to put their lil twist on that in their show. And about the partywalk competition, I was there as well, the Iota's were told what song they were goin to have in round 1 and were told they were goin to have the same fast song in round 2 like the 1st 2 teams had. Bt what i didnt get is that, if the songs were posed to be at RANDOM, pickin out of a box, for the 2nd round, how in the hell did the DELTAS have a perfect stroll to go wit the SLOW song that they had....i mean their moves went right wit the words...i can see if u just had a slow stroll, but if ur every move is exact wit the words of a songs...c'mom now...WASNT IT POSED TO BE RANDOM...HMMM I wonder about that.

Wow!!! Wish I was there...on second thought I'm glad I wasn't. This is a prime example of what we as BGLO Greeks do to our own organizations. Sad really.

First of all, you obviously don't know what you are talking about....WHY, because you are not a part of a greek organization that was given the rules, so any 'vouching' that you are doing is clearly biased as you are being told slanted information by others...EVERYONE knew the two song choices would be either unpredictable and the Luke song, so the judges "randomly" chose either the fast or the slow song, so there was ample opportunity to coordinate a party walk with the song choices. Its been this way EVERY year that there's been a party walk. It was suggested by the Iotas that only one song be used for the random round but never agreed upon. So to ease your bewilderment as to HOW the Deltas had a party walk that perfectly matched the song choice, it is because THE DELTAS TOOK THE TIME TO PRACTICE EVERY SONG POSSIBILITY. We did not just 'hope and wish' that "our song" would come up, we PREPARED for every possibility.

As far as the comment "your soror attacked my ace", I think you may have it in reverse. Either way, all parties who attended the event resolved the issue THAT VERY NIGHT. So that should no longer be an issue, and as a matter of fact- it is NOT an issue for the REAL persons involved; you clearly are the one you has the issue. Perhaps you should address that person and clear your beef.

Any other questions, comments, or concerns you have regarding this post, PLEASE feel free to address it in person, at tonight's NPHC meeting. Clearly, this is just for the greeks.

Just because im not a part of a so called "greek organization", doesnt mean i dont see the shit thats goin on around me. OHIO STATE might be a big school, but the African American population is small as hell, n a big percentage of them are greek...It takes someone looking from the outside in to see all b.s thats goin on. Cuz when you are apart of the b.s. and have been for quiet a while, you tend to not realize it cuz u r so used to it.

AGAIN I say, you do not know what you are talking about in regards to the way in which the party walk competition is and has been judged since forever. The greeks involved in the competition on the other hand, knew the rules. Period.

See thats the problem, yall think all non greeks just see "drama". Bt in the same sense, how cud someone who is non greek see anything other than drama, when the majority of the time there is an event and there are different organizations in attendance, there is some controversy. So yea, 80% of the time the "Normal" ppl see yall, it is drama. I give the same respect to greeks that they give to me. It just kills me that just because someone is not greek cant really see whats goin on. Yea the proshows are posed to be about that line, and the history that line learned while on line, bt everybody adds their 2 cents n if they wanna talk about other greeks, so be it. EVERYBODY does it.

Although I'm an English teacher, I won't discuss how painful this was to read. I'll only say that everybody DOESN'T do it and that 95% of what Greeks do is never seen by anyone outside of the respective chapter and of the 5% that is seen, about 2% of that really goes noticed by "non-Greeks." So I guess the only point I'm making is that you really don't see what's going on.

Well your probate show is about you... and yes we did do what we planned to do for us, HOWEVER, DO NOT sit there and think anyone who has any type of backbone and pride in themselves would sit there and allow anyone else to walk all over them. You old heads... and i'm only speaking to those to whom this concerns... are BEHIND times! Now probate shows are all about dissing people who have dissed you during the year. We dogged the Kappas... We dogged the Sigmas... We dogged the Ques... We dogged the Alphas but you wanna know the amazing thing about it... I still went out that night shared a drink with an Alpha, clowned wit a Kappa, made plans to hoop with a Sigma, and got nothin but love from the Zetas. It was personal but thats a price you pay for throwing that type of show. I refuse to allow the disrespect and disregard to go unchallenged. WE STEPPED ON YOUR TOES... STEP UP OR SHUT THE F*CK UP! its that simple. I'm tired of the crying and the playing innocent on the internet. Your guilty. You cheated during the stroll competition, and you've disrespected us long enough. We are done with the games! I'm sorry you dont like it but we pledged IOTA not dst, apa or anything else. then, sir, what you have is not a probate. it's a yard show with the new members.why don't you talk to some of your old heads and find out what a real probate is.
