Yes, it in and of itself is unrelated. But I went on tie it in to inappropriate vendor items being worn by non-members. Thus the relativity to the discussion at hand.

I think it has been confirmed that this was a mutual exchange--unless you are referring to a different set of pics.

I guess I was just wondering why some of the outifts, particularly the Zeta shirts (as shown on the website) fit the gentlemen so well if they were borrowed from sorority members.
Just offering up another possible explanation of where the shirts came from.

this is a damn shame - - - to have a male picture circulating to who knows where in an AKA jacket - i would be embarrassed and i don't care if the event was a tribute or not - - - -

Unbelievable....tribute step my a**. This is just down right disrespectful. You can do a step but wearing another orgs Para is too extreme and disrespectful to your own org.
And I do know men who were Delta Gents and MIAKAs and the guy at TSU is no MIAKA.
Delta Gents from what I understand changed their name to Gentlemen of Quality (GQ) and the MIAKAs changed their name to Men Acquiring Knowledge (MAK).
The MIAKAs I knew NEVER disrespected AKA like that.

MIAKAs(MAKs) and Delta Gents(GQ) were deep and VERY popular (especially with the ladies) at Morgan State University in the late eighties.

See, you taught me something new. I have only ever seen them online, so I didn't know if it ever "really" existed or if it was just random dudes posting pics online and claiming chapters or making up online chapters.
So did the men ever pledge frats after being MAKs or GQs?

Yes, alot of them went on to pledge fraternities. I know they would feel very disrespected if some "male" was wearing a AKA crossing jacket and calling himself a MIAKA.
One of the most popular MIAKA on campus was a brother by the name of P-Love. He can now be seen on "The Wire". He is the bodyguard that was always around Stringer or Avon. I am quite sure the REAL MIAKAs don't exist anymore.

I know back in 2002 when I came back to Homecoming at Texas Southern, a guy I knew was walking around with a saddle flap bag with MIAKA embroidered on it. I was joking with my friend who is an AKA. I said "There goes your brother". She said "Whatever" . Anyways, I did not know if they started an MIAKA organization there or not. I just left it alone.

There is a worker at my university who is a MiAKA. He has a ivy garland tattooed on his arm and AKA tattooedon on his neck and ankle. . From what I hear he also claims to have an active paid membership with the sorority. Crazy!!! Needless to say he is the joke of greek life on campus and has been verbally trashed in public by the AKA's on the yard. Why would any man go to such lengths to immulate and insult something that isn't made for men? I don't know, that's like asking why drag queens do what they do. I just call it mental illness.

It sounds like originally MIAKAs were Men Interested in hooking up with AKAs, not Men Interested in being AKAs. Same with Delta Beaux/Gents.
Things have changed.
