Her attire DOES reflect her behavior. She admitted she smokes pot.
Remind me where the cop was wrong. Where he questioned the two girls pulled over in a car on an abandoned street? The one that matched the description of a car that'd been harassing students? When he asked if they'd been drinking or doing drugs -- WHILE THEY WERE SITTING IN A CAR?
I'm sorry, I just disagree. You're way off base here.

I'm sorry...where did she say she smoked weed? Where did she say she was parked on an abandoned street.
In the original post, she told the cop the flakes were from her meal. She never admitted to smoked pot. Secondly, she was not parked on an abandoned highway, she was at the university.
Last time I checked, sitting in a car having a meal, was not a crime.

I need to take a basic logic class? Seriously, if you lack intelligence, speak to others like you. Do not even think we are anywhere in the same league.

There are better ways to approach a car--- how about "is everything ok here" The cop should look for the subtle indicators that would say if she was drunk, stoned, etc-- ANYONE, especially a trained person should be able to smell pot, a trained person should know to look at the pupils and tell if they are dialating abnormally, etc. If all appears ok, let them eat their lunch.
And she admitted on a message board that she has smoked pot, I am sure she didn't tell the cop as he walked up "hey, i 've smoked pot in the past- but not today" She was eating lunch!
And yes, racial profiling is a big deal alot of places, there has been much ado about it here in the past. Maybe it has something to do with racial profiling and I don't fit the criteria-- but I have NEVER been approached by a cop in the way she described-- regardless of skin color-- that is uncalled for. I got stop by the cop a couple of weeks ago-- I was speeding (well over 20mph over the limit)-- the cop walked to the car- told me I was speeding, I acted surprised, he asked what I thought the limit was, I told him I thought it was 65 (i knew it was 55)-- he came back apologized for bothering my evening and told me to have a nice night and try to slow down I might not just get a warning next time. That is how I expect to be treated, regardless of getting a ticket or not-- manners are still important!

What she did yesteday, or 3 years ago, has no bearing on what she was doing that day. Again, you can't harrass or arrest someone, based on what they might to. You also can't harrass or arrest someone on what they might have done when you have no evidence. Since you work in law enforcement, you should know that. the cop was way out of line.

aaaaaaaaaand I also know he wasn't harassing her.
Checking in on two people sitting in a car on the side of an otherwise abandoned road IS HIS JOB.
Asking if anyone was inebriated or intoxicated, when they'd obviously driven there (hence the car) and probably planned to drive home IS HIS JOB.
sigh.

This clearly shows that she was profiled, and the "responding to a call on this car" thing was most likely BS. If there was a problem with them being parked in that area, the cop should have just said "please move on" without all the BS comments about weed and such that this guy made.
I'm going to go home and give myself a stigmata and see if I get a cop asking me if I've walked on water or raised Lazarus from the dead today.

If you know anything about probable cause, you know that wearing a Bob Marley tshirt (that a cop couldn't even see before he got up to the car so it certainly wasn't why he stopped) does not mean a police officer has a reason to stop someone. It doesn't matter if someone smokes pot every single day when she's at home. The cops must have a reasonable belief that she has committed, is committing or will commit a crime.
I think where we disagree here is that you're taking the cop's word that someone reported the car and I'm not. I think it's more likely than not that the cop never got a call and is just using the "report" as a reason to stop someone. I've seen stuff like that happen many times.

First off, unless you have been in Law Enforcement then you dont have a friggen clue.
In Many Areas, You can sign up for a ride along program, get off of your back sides and try it. Eye opener.
I went threw shoot dont shoot scenerio after being on the streets for 6 years. EYE OPENER to the extreme! See people die, no matter what reason is bad.
Was shot once, and that was enough.
For you civilians, when driving a car with shield, a Badge, and a gun with lights and siren does not keep you safe from trying to protect innocent people from the dirt bags who are trying to do things to them.
I was told the first night of acadamey all you will see is good people that bad people did bad to or the bad people. Figure the worst and hope for the best.
Officers have certain districts that they patrol all of the time and if they see a strange car, then they check it out.
So, you were embarresed, well, if this dude was trying to rape you, you would have been tickled to death to see a COP pull up.
Try wearing the shoes instead of complaining about it.
Hell, if I did not know the car, I would have checked it out, and if your mouth got over whelming, yes, there would have been a problem.
Dont blame everyone else when you were the center of attraction.
Suggestion, get a room next time!
Oh, Smoking is illegal and it does hang in the air and in Your system if run for 30 days, DA!

Not always! Picture beautiful woman, dressed in desinger clothes, nails done, hair done, etc. at a exclusive high society event-- who is this woman, a trophy wife, an upcoming socialite, or an escort. Very different ends of the spectrum there.
Or same extreme- much more common scenario.... its 2am- woman is pulled over-- her hair is a mess, her clothes look askew, she doesn't seem coherent-- is she a coming home half lite from a wild night or driving to Walmart to buy her sick kid some medicine.
Clothes don't always reflect the behavior.

Unless you've been a criminal defense attorney or a criminal defendant, you don't have a clue as to the other side, either.

It's been a whole page of dialogue and no attempted calling-outs.
Lil Hannah where are you?!
