As Holmes once said to Watson, "the game is afoot".
Brother Mike, this is outstanding news to be sure.
I have spent many hours trying to find Our Brother Warren along with many others.
Maybe between You and Jono, it can be specifically pin pointed to the actual site. Also maybe someone in the area can get a Picture to be placed in the Archives of LXA.
This sounds like the makings of a New Article for The C & C!
The sad part is that "Someone/Brother" who is so close to Our History was lost and found again and only died in 1969
Dang, that sounds familiar!

Bahstan and its environs
Sounds like a road trip to Boston is in order for some forensic archeology.
Given that I am an elder law attorney and do some probate, this doesn't sound too tough. Let's see what I can do.
Is the weather in Rehobeth Beach suitable for photography in June?

There is a Mt Hope cemetery in Swansea - that is where I would start. The maps that I have available to me do not show a cemetery in Rehoboth, nor do they show a Horton Land. There is a Hortonville between Swansea & Rehoboth. Mt Hope cemetery is on Hortonville Rd.

Swansea Site
Greetings,
I visited the Mt. Hope site in the Summer of 2003. I found a family plot for the Cole Family, but no Warren A. Cole! I did photograph the site. Unfortunately, the Library, Historical Society, and Cemetery Office were all closed that Friday! Most because of a state budget problem at the time.
I think a contact with the local folks at Swansea might be helpful.
Let me quote my source for his burial: " Burial was in Horton Land, Rehoboth, Mass., in ancestral property of many acres. Horton Land was the birthplace of his mother, and dates back many generations."
The funeral services were conducted by the Rev. Allen Webster Joslin, Rector of Christ Epsicopal Chuch in Swansea. The Church's records might shed some light on his burial site.
I would greatly appreciate the aid of any Brother who has the time to "crack" this little mystery.
I would like to see his grave site, along with a few other early Lambda Chi leaders, properly memorialized in time for our Centennial in 2009.
I bet that our Good Brothers from Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New England and, to use an old term "LambdaKaidom," in general would contribute the funds needed to properly mark our Founder's grave site.
Something to think about on this Memorial Day Holiday....
Yours in ZAX,
Mike Raymond,

I did not know you had the name of the church. It took 1.08 seconds to Google. Why not just call them up and ask?

Sometimes, it is the Obvious that Gets You!
Brother Jono,
I just realized this morning that I had that bit of information! I will make the call. However, it would be great to get a volunteer to visit the site and take photographs.
Thanks for your help.

I'm all up for a drive if there are any Western Mass. LXA reading this!
Or if everyone wants to make a donation to the gas/MassPike Toll fund, I could do it that way too!
Hey, I'm just a broke grad student remember!
