I just feel sorrow for the person who doesn't understand the intricacies of his/her ritual. Only when you understand the how's and why's of your ritual, itwill truly touch your heart. I pray that this comes soon for you. If not, I might question why you are a part of your organization. I'm sure there are many resources that can help you find out more about your ritual, to gain new understanding about it.....use them!

do any of your groups have a review of the ritual during the first chapter meeting after initation? As Martha would say, it's a Good Thing.

My chapter of initiation did that. My chapter that I spent the most time with couldn't really get that together.

The part where we have to put the eagle into the thong is MURDER, I tell you. They move around too much!

Speaking of that, where do you get your eagle? Since you are in DC, do you get to borrow one from the National Zoo whenever you need it?

I think I'm up near 45 viewings of our ritual - and I learn something new, or get a new perspective on life each time I see it - it's that timeless, and you can adapt it's teachings to every stage of your life.

Of course, I won't reveal any of the "secrets" we reveal, but, as I tell every AM class that's about to go through, it's not that they are secrets, they are things shown to you in a new, inspiring way...that is, if you parent(s) did any reasonable job at all in raising you, there won't be anything you hadn't learned already...the context and meaning is definintely different, and that is what is so inspiring and life changing.

Add to that the author of our Ritual was about the same age as the average freshman going through when he wrote it, and it is really incredible what was done in 1915 to still have impact today.
