Mel, I'm so happy for you! We loved Rome! Gracie-poo should have a super time!

Well, I've had one heck of a week! I don't think I've mentioned it, but I'll be having a little legacy in November! YIPPEE!!

On to the thorns...which there just seem to be so damn many this week. I put my two weeks in on Monday. I've just had so much going on between me and the baby. It just seemed easier to take a breather. Tuesday, my husband called to tell me that he'd had an 'accident' during his Water Survival Training class. He was pulling himself out of the pool...in full battle-rattle...and ruptured the tendons in his left bicep. It is completely detached from his left pectoral muscle. He'll have surgery on Monday...good thing I quit my job, huh? There is good news though, he will most likely NOT get deployed again. We're looking at at least 4 months of recovery. Bad news, we don't know how his future looks for other employment. He's a K9 handler, and he won't be able to handle dogs anymore. Ahhh...I'm rambling. Thanks for listening guys!

Well, mine sounds like nothing compared to Venice, but I'm going to Vegas in two weeks. Pretty exciting for me, since Ohio is the furthest west I've ever been (and that's more north than west, anyway). I'm flying through Houston, too, which I've heard is an awesome airport. I think I'm more excited about the flying than the actualy Vegas!

Rose - I had an awesome time with my sister and brother in San Francisco for my sis's birthday. My sister LOVED her present - a necklace from tiffany's. We took her to the store, had her try it on because "I thought it was cute", and then said happy birthday!

Bud - I'm really looking forward to getting back to school.

Thorns - My boyfriend didn't get to come up this weekend (he goes to USC and they started back in August) because gas was so expensive and his professors piled work on him. I don't get to see him till October now because I'll be so busy with rush prep/rush itself.

Rose and Thorn - I'm taking care of my brother and sister while my parents are in Europe and man is it hard! Getting healthy dinner on the table, making sure the house is clean, waking up at 5 am to take my brother to water polo practice, rides to and from school, etc. All this while still working my full time job. I don't know how my parents do it!

Rose: I finished five pages in my scrapbook this week!

Bud: The progress on the Delta Iota house is amazing! I wish I knew how to post pictures so I could share. We're all so excited about recruitment and Move-In is next Wednesday!

Thorn: Lots of work to do for summer school finals before move-in.

Rose -- I got to see Andrea (HannahGirl) this weekend!! She was down on the Outer Banks of North Carolina for a family vacation so my boyfriend and I snuck down this weekend to see them before they left! Here are some cute pictures we took of myself and Andrea hanging out at the pool!

WOW! I am so excited for Delta Iota! Please post photos as the changes take place. Is it supposed to be finished in time for recruitment? Are there any interior changes (I know the living room was redecorated a few years ago)? Keep us informed!

I just recieved another long term teaching assignment. I'll be teaching 4th grade for a girl going on maternity leave so that means I'll be in the classroom till at least Halloween. I don't have to deal with 6am phone calls...which is VERY EXCITING! I will be starting very soon (like next tuesday) considering school started TODAY!
This is my 3rd long term assignment....I had 3rd grade last fall at the same school I'll be at this time (which means I'll have my kids from last year!) and I finished out the 05-06 year in Kindergarten at a different school within the district.
Kent recruitment starts next weeked also! The girls are ready and I'm hoping that we walk away with quota again!

Rose - I needed to purchase $265.00 worth of books for one of my classes and I did not have the money. Two of my sisters really helped me out. One had the book ($140) and the other had the calculator ($125), and they let me borrow them for the semester! They are my life savers!

Bud - I am off tomorrow and I only have one afternoon class! Yippie!

Thorns - I work 40 hours a week while going to school full time. It's only the first week of classes and I am already exhausted. And pay day is tomorrow, only the majority of my check has already been spent on bills and rent. It's going to be a tough next two weeks!

BTW CJ.....I forwarded your email to Akron's former ATC who just moved to Raleigh and is looking to be involved with the alumnae group. I told her that you could point her in the right direction or let her know about events going on. Her name is Becki Hogue and she's really sweet! I hope that she gets a hold of you!
