After being initiated in Fall 03, we FINALLY got our pins a few days ago
At this point it was my 1st semester at school and I had just transfered to an in state school from a $35,000/year private school, so needless to say my parents were thrilled to pay my dues and other sorority expenses because tuition was so inexpensive. So, I called my mom and told her I realllllllly wanted the all pearl badge. She wanted to just get me the plain pin, and talk about getting another later, but I thought that was silly because I didnt need 2 badges. So she says to me, "Ok, well, I know transferring was really hard, and Im so happy that you have found a home in ADPi and its going to be something you will have forever so why not!"
I REALLY want to get a diamond sister this semester, but I dont want to give up my pin until she gets hers!! Im attached to it already!!!
Going to a school that is so expensive makes EVERYTHING seem cheaper in comparison Leaving that school made even car shopping legitiment!!!!

Cool, you're the only other sister i've met with an all sappire badge. Mines white gold though, we're like pin twins er something I do have a chased EP gaurd no way i'm loosing this baby. I really wanted the one with diamonds and Sappire points but it was just too much.

Warning: Board Crashing Ahead!
Hey, ladies! I was just cruising your boards and had to reply to SororgrlADPi. That's so sweet, how you and your dad have "matching" badges! What a wonderful family tradition to have started!
Now back to your regularly scheduled ADPi programming....

How does the dangle for your Diamond Sister work? Do you buy one each time you get a Diamond, or what?

I know people who have bought one for each diamond sister they took, or people who just have one... It is really the traditions of the chapter and up to the person...

My pin
Mind is Yellow Gold with all seed pearls. I had the money to get the four points in Amethyst, which is my family stone, but I decided to get the cheaper one. THe one I really want is the all diamond with four points of amethyst. I also want to get a gaurd w/ all pearl and a recording secretary dangle.

My pin is the pearl and garnet pin. It is yellow gold. It alternates between each of them, one pearl than garnet and so on. I got garnet because that's my birth stone. I really really like my pin and I am toying with the idea of getting it set to a ring, but I need to pay off my other bills first

Question: how many pearls (or other jewels) are between your points? I've seen some on ebay with four, and some with three. All three of mine have three. I'm thinking that they're all the miniature pin that was sold for a brief time.

Mine alternates pearls and sapphires. It is regular gold with a plain Eta Psi guard and a webmaster dangle. (And I wore it for the first time today-- sans dangle and guard-- for badge day!)
ETA: The pin on the national site has point, three stones, then the next point. That's what is sold today-- if you get points, you have three alike stones in between them, and if you get alternating, the points and center-middle stones are one color, and the two remaining stones are the alternating color.

Mine have three stones between the points; one's from the 60's and one is from 2003. I don't think I've seen one with four between the points. I have noticed that the newer ones are larger than the older ones - that those from the 60's or older are narrower than more recent ones. I wonder why? Anyone else notice that?

Just watch as pins are on ebay - you'll see that some have four pearls, others have three. Some have a larger black diamond than others (or at least it would seem!).
