I knew I wanted to be Greek when I was in high school. My best friends always made fun of me and would make fun of all my Greek Gear that I wore. But when they came home from sophomore year, I found out that 2 of my closest friends went greek!! Yay!! One is a Sigma Kappa and one is an Alpha Chi Omega.
I have gone to visit my Sigma Kappa friend at her university and I get to "live" at her house when I go visit. Since I go to a commuter school (we only have 13 girls living in our house), its such a great experience to see how other sororities live (with the cook, maids, and 70 plus people living in one house!!).
A lot of people from my HS went Greek. It is fun to see the Greeks on my campus who I went to high school with. Everyone changes so much!!

hmm, most of the people i know went to college locally and there was no greek life. tons of people continued high school, i mean, went to penn state, but i don't know of anyone who actually went greek. i know that my hs bf rushed, but never pledged. his uncle was greek and really wanted him to do it, tho. i also had tons of friends who went to schools that were pretty anti-greek.
i know for positive that 3 girls went greek. one at pitt and i think she went theta, but i have no confirmation. two went greek at villanova- one definately went tri delta and the other one definately didn't go to tri delta...lol, but i don't know where she went.

There were only a couple of us from my circle of friends in HS who went greek...
AXO @ University of Richmond
KD @ William and Mary
and me Phi Mu at Muhlenberg College
Come to think of it, none of my guy friends went Greek......no, I take that back....one went Alpha Phi Omega (co-ed service fraternity) and one went Phi Mu Delta (music fraternity)
I guess my highschool didn't really breed greeks!

I had a few of my male friends go Greek at MTSU, UT-Knoxville and Western Kentucky University. I had some female friends go Greek at WKU, MTSU, UT and Austin Peay. Overall, though, there weren't many of them that decided to do it. I'm sure some that I lost touch with ended up going Greek and I don't know about it!

None of my close guy friends joined a fraternity, but my girls...
So my close group of girlfriends and I were really tight in high school and we nicknamed ourselves The Frickative Five- we all were in the same spanish class where Senora used the word "Frickative" and it stuck. When we went off to college, I went to Baldwin-Wallace, two to Ohio Northern, one to Bowling Green and another to Toledo. By the end of the following January, we had two Kappa Alpha Theta's, an Alpha Gamma Delta, a Phi Mu and while the last didn't join a sorority, she joined Kappa Kappa Psi... so in my opinion, we did 100%!

Most of my friends from high school went Greek. Off the top of my head, I am only remembering three who didn't go Greek, one of which is going Greek this semester, another of which considered going Greek for a while but didn't, and a third who has always been anti-Greek. Wow, I hadn't realized that most of my H.S. friends are now Greek.
Looking back, tons of people I graduated with went Greek. I found out that several had joined Alpha Phi. Girls I rarely talked to, but was cool with, went A-Phi, so I thought that was super cool. I can't wait for the H.S. reunions.

From my class (a small private school):
2 DDD (Furman, Vanderbilt)
3 AXO (me, two friends at GA Tech)
1 XO (Mercer)
1 ZTA (Presbyterian College)
1 Sigma Nu (Furman)
1 Phi Delta Theta (Cornell)
Other friends from high school have gone:
SAE (5)
ADPi (4)
AXO
Pi Kappa Phi
DDD
After being at such a small school, it was necessary for each of us to find the same "niche" with another group of friends.

I found out at my 10 year HS reunion, that the guy's picture in the yearbook directly next to mine also became a LXA at the University of Denver.
I also dated a girl for several years (went to HS together, but, never knew each other until after graduation) that was a Theta.
Lots of friends in a myriad of fraternities and sororities.
Funny thing is, many of these people were NOT the "jocks" and "popular (homecoming court)" crowd - most of those people never did go to college, or went locally to a school with no greek system. They still live in my hometown, trying to relive their glory days - very sad.

There is not a chapter or colony of DX at CSU - Northern Colorado, and I think CU Boulder - but definitely not CSU....

My best friend was a DG at USC, but most of my girlfriends didn't affiliate. My guy friends, how ever, made a better showing:
1 SN at Cal Poly SLO
1 FDQ at Stanford
1 SFE at UCLA
1 KA at Berkeley
1 SC at SDSU
1 KS at UC Davis
2 QC's at Chico State
However my little sis in Alpha Phi had a cool story - her 7 close HS friends all went away to different colleges - and all pledged Alpha Phi! They made the cutest shirts that had a big AF in the middle and all the school names around it.
