Haha I don't think you're old or cranky. I think it is so awesome that you are still so involved with Gamma Phi Beta, you truly are an amazing example of what a sorority woman should be!
Congrats to all the sororities at Bama and Auburn....esp. Laura's DG chapter, I am so proud of you!!!!!
16 party day just ended here and I am wiped out....and the night is not going to end anytime soon!

I had hoped this would happen -- I knew she had gone to prefs and was keeping my fingers crossed she would choose us!!!!
I am SOOOOOOOO Proud to be a Gamma Phi!!! (P.S. My chapter at Southern Cal has at least one African American woman who pledged last year)

It is so scary to think that the people who wrote some of that feedback and are poised to enter into top business and political positions will perpetuate these ideas for the rest of their lives.

Don't know about your chapters, but we were always told NEVER to use the words sweet and cute to describe a girl. They really tell you NOTHING.
Plus, a friend of mine from high school always used to say "cute describes a puppy dog".
|
We were told that also - calling a girl sweet is like saying "Oh, she was the blonde one in the black dress."

I am so proud of my Epsilon Lambda sisters! As for calling us the worst house on campus - somebody is way too excited that they are Old Row...or pissed that they dropped this girl and aren't getting publicity now!

I don't know why I am still surprised at people making such tasteless and narrow-minded comments.

i was too...as someone who commented on the article...this is 2003, not 1902. even the nphc member had something negative to say about the situation. when will people grow and realize that dicrimination is not cool and that if you close your eyes you can't see the color of your skin, so who cares.

Add "nice" to that list, and you have the most important thing I learned in Rush that I can apply to real life.

Some people are straight tripping! Makes me wanna holler!
As for Carla, I have 3 words:
YOU GO GIRL!
What she did took balls and I got nothing but love for the sistah. I hope to see her on GC soon!

I feel so bad for this girl. Not because she got a bid, but because something that's supposed to be for her and her nearest and dearest to be happy about is turning into a big ridiculous media event. I think it was wrong of the Panhel president to give her name to the newspaper.
