My best advice... go through recruitment open-minded. Don't decide before you go through where you want to go... because otherwise you may be disappointed or you may go through and realize that reputations aren't always true. But, yes, definitely tell her to rush, and tell her to avoid listening to the talk outside the rooms about the sororities and make the decision on her own.
PS-Make sure she's aware of the range of dues. This year they go from $1,000-$3,500/year. She needs to be aware of the cost of living in a house/cost of not living in a house, etc...

Good advice, CarolinaDG. I get so upset when I hear about the dirty rushing that goes on--you know, all those little comments (usually untrue) that some GLOs tell the PNMs, just enough to put doubts into their heads. Why they are talking about other GLOs at their own rush party is beyond me!
The dues situation is misleading. Like I've said in other threads, Kappa does not assess, so what is listed is all each member is required to pay (T-shirts, pictures, etc. are extra but optional). Also, living in the houses will be kind of comparable to dorm living. It will be a little more, but look at the perks!!! No matter what, I'm sure each GLO works with a member who can't pay a lump sum but could pay her dues in installments.
