My bad. Good move on the University's part!
As far as NPHC goes, there was an article about how they wanted housing like us last year, but I don't think they realize that a. sorority members pay more to live in our suites and b. we pay for all the furniture, etc. in the common rooms, only the university takes care of th bedrooms for us. The university doesn't really pay for anything. Also they are significantly smaller, so I'm thinking that they are planning on putting them somewhere like bruce hall, etc. Somewhere with the smaller suites so that they can fill them and have a common living area.
I think this "arguement" has been going on since sororities had to move into Amos! You're right on all of the points - the size, the fact that the University doesn't pay for diddly, etc. I can remember AKA asking a lot of questions at a Panhel meeting, and they were surprised that we pay for everything - they had assumed that Pitt paid for the furniture etc. Once they learned the facts, it became a whole new ballgame.
I guess it
does look like the sororities are being pampered by Pitt, if you don't know who's footing the bill. But ignorance is never a valid excuse.
Here's a thought what happened to the three sorority houses that they were going to put on the hill???
They'll be built - in Never Never Land!
