I saw the movie on Thursday. Some parts were cute, but overall I thought it was over the top. The first one was somewhat believable. Sort of. Anyway, my daughter loved it!! She was just mesmerized. So we will probably own that DVD when it comes out.

Also for those of you who has seen it, did you catch the KKG reference? I was really surprised by that! Oh well. It was kinda cute, but it still hurt my head a little. But, yippee for Luke Wilson!
I liked the first one better too...and I also caught the KKG remark, and it didn't sound too positive; is this gonna cause trouble?

But I have to admit, the snap thing that me laughing HYSTERICALLY!!!!!! My friend who I saw it with (a Phi Sig) the both of us looked at each other and cracked up- cause it happens in both of our chapters. Like something someone said? snap.
Sad Sad Sad.

I think the put sorority life in a quasi-positve way. Granted, they all looked the same and sounded like the typical 'dumb blonde sorority girl' that most non greeks think of, the way they all came together as sisters kinda reminded me the positive sisterhood image we are always trying to promote.Hey, it just might happen.

After getting our chapter some of the brothers wanted to initiate "snapping" instead of applauding because they had heard other chapters did it. I am glad I wasn't the only one to shoot it down as a silly copy cat lol (I'll roll out the rolleyes on that one!)

About the movie. It was actually cool the way they presented sororities, Oh Uptight Ones, lol.

If your chapter doesn't have some semblance of a phone tree I would be surprised. The networking was obvious lol. And if you could get every chapter of YOUR sorority to show up in DC with less than 24 hours notice you would NEVER have a recruitment problem.

Overall, I thought the first movie had a better constructed story. this one had some truly funny spots though . . . such as the dog being outed.

Hmm...I'm sure we could pull off some sort of phone networking system, but come on. I definitely do NOT have a card with a special code that will ring a special "bat phone" with a poor girl waiting next to it. Cheesy? Yeah...a little....

Did anyone stop to think how all of those DN's from all over the nation acquired enough money to just stop everything and ship themselves over to DC? I mean from Cali that would be quite a trip!

I LOVED this - I thought it actually gave a pretty decent representation of some parts of sororities. The Kappa comment had me cracking up - and realistically, the Kappas could have been on the good side of that. I saw the movie with one of my sisters and we ran into some DZs and Alpha Phis - you could tell they were in a sorority because they laughed at similiar parts. I loved the "Snap Cup" song and how the evil senator got all excited about the yellow tea rose.

The current AVP of my chapter and I have also decided that we wouldn't mind being Capital Barbies.

Ohh!!! Seen it for my b-day! GREAT! Oh man, I was cracking up all throughout it!

Oh, I was -also- wondering if any other GC'ers caught the KKG remark, I gasped and my boyfriend was like, "Huh? Who?". He may be apart of a nat'l, yet he has no clue of other nat'ls.

I was dying from laughter when I seen the "Gay Dogs of America" scene! My girls and I are going to go see this at the drive-in, can't wait to see it again!

Oh..and I also wore pink

I wore pink, but unintentionally. It was strange to me how many little girls were there, but eh, I guess if they like it, whatever. I also loves me some Luke Wilson, so that was exciting. My friend who's not in a sorority wrote me an email right after she saw the movie (before I had seen it) and asked me if we really had "snap cups" because I have taken to occassionally saying "snaps for that!" even when I'm not in chapter or around other Thetas. So I thought that was funny...although, at one point in the movie when they all snap, they snap in unison, to a beat! What's that about? However, I loved the part where they all went "snaps for Elle's lateral delts." Oh yeah, I noticed the KKG thing immediately too, and it seems like there was some other passing reference to a real fraternity maybe? I don't remember. I liked the part when Elle said of Emmet: "he's not in the greek system, but he's totally letter-worthy." And I think there were some other Greeks in the audience too, because there were certain parts where some of the audience (including me) would be laughing hysterically and others would just be sitting there!

Sarah

I saw it opening night. My BF went to see Terminator 3 and I went to see LB2 and we met up afterwards.

Have to say, I wasn't too disappointed, since I didn't go in expecting much. I don't think it had the same sparkle of the first one. It had entertaining parts for sure, but I liked the first one better.

Our chapter snaps instead of clapping, so I thought that part was pretty fun. And the intern part towards the end was hysterical (I'm trying not to spoil anything).

And she has one of my all-time fav. cars. Looks fun in baby blue

Is the snap cup kind of like a gavel pass?

Respectfully disagree...

Sorry ladies but I must disagree... I LOVED this movie! I just love the way Elle goes beyond what is typically done and goes about things her own way. While some of it may be unrealistic, its important to remember its just a movie and it must be entertaining.

As far as the sorority references, there was good and bad.

The bad: all the girls being a part of the typical blonde air head stereotype .
The good: Showed the connections you can make through your organization. The "extreme" bond of sisterhood, as far as calling on your sisters when you need them (million dog march). And although the snap cup seems a little funny, and I've never seen that done before... good conflict (although a bit silly in this context) resolution skills.

The KKG thing was surprising to me! I really didn't ever expect them to use a real GLO! Crazy! I wonder if the KKG exec offices had any big problems with this.

Overall, I loved the MOVIE!

Well, I saw the movie on Saturday, and I definitely liked the first one better. This one was very cute and funny, though. I love Elle, and I really liked the way they showed the sorority coming together for their sister. The drag queen sister had me cracking up!!!

I just want to know whether that implies that Kappas would be in favor of using tongue at a kissing booth (makes us sound like sluts) or against it (makes us sound like prudes).

I grinned at the Kappa reference, though, 'cuz lots of my sisters have (pink) shirts that say "Legally KAPPA."

The movie does make me giggle.

I didn't like the movie, Poor Reese, I know she worked really hard on it.

I can't stop saying "it makes me want a hot dog real bad"
