Well, this isn't about proving the offense to everyone and justifying the response to the perceived offense (power minority groups tend to do that).

Not everyone has to find it offensive or worth speaking out. That is not to be confused with having no concept of the potential larger implications of such things and acting as though those who do find offense and/or spoke out are just bored during a slow work week. Bitches need hobbies!

I understand what you are saying, and I don't think he understands why we would be offended. Apparently some things are offensive enough to protest in his estimation...just not this piddling issue. The issue is more than meets the eye. Then again, aren't most. He's free to have his opinion, but I seriously don't get why he'd argue so vociferously against the opposite. Thus my post.

That's why women are a minority group. Minority status is more about power dynamics than about population size.

Minority groups tend to try to convince and justify things to people who disagree or may be unaware, including members of the minority group.

Our Honors/Pre-AP Geometry and Algebra II teachers showed this shirt to their students. The classes collectively (and majority female population) laughed and said:

"That's the dumbest thing we've ever heard."
"What idiot would buy that shirt?"

The boys collectively wondered if the makers had ever looked into a math class - the girls usually rank higher than the boys!
