A heart murmur doesn't cause anything--it's actually a symptom. There's lots of different types and could be benign or could be a symptom of heart disease, weak valves, etc. They're talking about it on the news right now. Her mom found her unconscious in the shower, autopsy pending toxicology, etc. I didn't know her home used to belong to Britney Spears, though (the newscaster mentioned the neighbors being used to reporters swarming that house).
ETA: Does anyone else have a huge feeling of deja vu? This feels like Heath Ledger all over again.

No deja vu here. While Ledger's drug problems were known to Hollywood insiders, it wasn't common knowledge the way that Brittany Murphy's battles with eating disorders and drug abuse. Just this weekend at the hair salon, I read Star Magazine and it had a photo of how dangerously skinny she was. Also, she wasn't exactly at the top of her game, the way that Heath Ledger was. While their deaths were both premature and tragic, there doesn't seem to be any other thing that makes my hair stand on end.

Aaliyah died in a plane crash- a small plane was overloaded with too many people and too much luggage. Thank you, VH1 Behind The Music from 10 years ago!!!

Ditto. I've watched enough of Dr. G, Medical Examiner, to know what goes on at an autopsy. But if my seemingly "healthy" spouse suddenly died, especially after being sick, I'd want to know why.
I believe she had an eating disorder. Whatever the cause was, she was too young and will be missed.

That's the deja vu part. 1. That is just came out of nowhere and 2. It tripped me out that I found out just 4 hours after she died. It's creepy to me that we can find things out so quickly. I feel like there should be some sort of delay, let the family settle into the news and THEN tell the public. I read about Heath 2 hours after his body was found and it felt like stumbling onto some secret I shouldn't know...Does that make sense?

I guess the "gossip news" is now pointing to drugs instead of the eating disorder. The autopsy shouldn't take too long to complete.

That "Don't Say A Word" movie has been on HBO constantly and every time I see the title I have to sing the similarly titled Swing Out Sister song.

I just read on Yahoo that the hubby gave an interview to access hollywood. He basically said that it was a "typical" Sunday morning and that Brittany was in the shower and her mom went to check on her because she was taking a long time and screamed for the hubby to call 911. Hubby also said that she had been sick lately, fighting what they thought might have been the flu.
I'm not doctor, but it seems that if the diabetes is true, the eating disorder is true and you are fighting the flu (quite possibly H1N1), then it just might kill you.
The article didn't mention him opposing an autopsy.

TMZ's initial report was full of pictures of a skeletal Brittney Murphy, and her husband not wanting an autopsy.

According to the ET, soothsayer of all knowledge, she had 2 engagements go belly up and then she wound up with this guy (her current husband - and he's yucky and creepy). I wonder if her self-esteem took a beating, for her to wind up settling for this guy?

Compared with Ashton Kutcher and her first fiancé, he's a real prize all right.

Except for the hydrocodone and maybe the Klonopin and Ativan, none of those drugs individually is dangerous/abusable—she was reportedly sick with the flu, which is probably what the Biaxin and Prednisone were for—but considering her weakened state, I could see how all these combined could make for a deadly cocktail.
