Has anyone seen the movie Election?
I finally had to IMDB to see if there are any common writers/creators with Glee (from what I see, there's not). The series reminds me a lot of the movie although I'm not totally sure why. Something about the writing and sense of sarcasm & satire. I doubt Glee will take the stock characters and let them spiral so controversially as in Election, but I keep waiting for them to.

Yes, Election is one of my all time favs - Reese Witherspoon played an amazingly awful human being, and Matthew Broderick was great as the teacher gone off the rails.

The actress playing the wife is about 38, the actor playing her husband is turning 31 soon. So there is a bit of an age difference there.
Even more interesting, is that the actor playing Finn is 27, the actresses playing Quinn and Rachel are 23.
Just goes to show you how age isn't necessarily a huge factor in casting. If you "fit the part", your age may not matter. Many actors are hired "18+ TPY", which means 18 and older "to play younger", and adult actors (not actors in adult films) can play older, their age, or younger. There are a lot of rules and laws about hiring and paying child actors, from the number of hours per day they can work, to where their paycheck goes (special bank account has to be set up), to having to have parents on set, to providing schooling.
If you remember, most of the actors in the film "Grease" were well into their 20s, and Stockard Channing was around 33 when she shot the film.

Okay, I have to admit it, I'm an old married lady with grown kids, but I kind of have a crush on Finn - good to know I'm not "robbing the cradle"!

Great movie. It's definitely one of those that I could watch over and over.

too funny! My kids aren't completely grown yet, but I was happy to see that Finn is closer to my age than my kids ages!

SPY DADDY WAS ON GLEE!!!!! I was completely unspoiled for that, and squealed like a little girl when I saw him. If I wasn't hooked before, I am now.

Last night was awesome!! There were some great numbers performed! How random was the Josh Groben last scene with him hitting on the burping alchi mom?
Totally a fun show - I'm going to rewatch it for the music and may download the songs on my Ipod.

Just watching it now...LMAO indeed!
ETA: I have to add...watching "Vocal Adrenaline' and the other competitors reminds me of my musical theatre days...singing and dancing at the same time was exciting, fun, and an amazing workout!

I think Lauren from SYTYCD was one of the dancers form the other show choir.

I seriously laughed my butt off when they brought in the "Two Thumbs Up!" cake and the thumbless guy stabbed at the plate over and over because he couldn't use a fork.
I thought the Acafellas thing was funny at first, but then it basically took over the show. I'm a little worried about that. I don't want to watch the older guys and two hs guys perform every week. I want to watch the Glee Club. That said, they're already starting to make the Glee Clubbers not-so-nerdy and friends with the Cheerios, which will ruin the conflict that is needed in the show I think. They could've at least waited a few more weeks to start going there.

While I love Glee- I wonder if the writers have ever even looked at a map of Ohio! I know the creator grew up in Indiana, but really. Lima is not really close to Cleveland. So for Josh Groban to "drop in" in Lima after being in Cleveland would mean he jumped in a car for a 3 hour car ride.
It would have been better if they just made up a town in Ohio (ala Greek) that way it could be anywhere in the state. They keep referencing going to Canton and Cleveland, yet Lima is (much) closer to Toledo or even Columbus.
