I dropped off my TNT registration this morning. It's a done deal. I am training for the NIKE Women's Marathon in San Francisco. I'm really excited!!! Nervous as all get out, but super excited. I will keep y'all posted. I need to blog.

If I was lazy before, I can't be now. Training starts this weekend.

Great!

I did my on this past Saturday. So, you got the purple bracelet also? I'm doing philly and considering the Nike Marathon in October. I heard that course is VERY VERY VERY hilly. If I can raise the 7000.00, I'll do both of them. Maybe we can meet since I'll be out there all by my lonesome.

Didn't that video at the meeting make you cry. When that video was done, I was 'bout to jump out my chair and start runnin right then. and Hell...I don't even run!!! I'm walking my marathon. LOL.

I am exciting also. My training also starts this weekend.

Good Luck!

I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE!!!! Yes, girl, I was all teary eyed!! I would REALLY love if you could do Nike. I would LOVE to meet you out there. Cincinnati is a very hilly city, so I'm getting used to walking up hills. Running up them is gonna be a different story. But I'm glad I'm not training in a flat city!

I haven't gotten my stuff yet. Yesterday was the day after the Flying Pig Marathon here (a man collapsed and died afterward, and of course I read that right after I pay my money ), so no one was in the office. They are mailing me my materials. My training is gonna be kinda special because I can't train on Saturdays (Sabbath), so I have to do my long runs (walk/runs, let's be clear) by myself.

Day 8 of Fat Smash!!!!! Tomorrow is the last day of Phase I but I might do it one more week. Or I may do Phase II some days, but still have Phase I days. I still have plenty of produce left over, lol. I do kinda want some fish, lemme stop trippin, lol.

I can't wait to get on the scale on Thursday!!!

Where can I get my % body fat taken?

i dont post in here often, but i wanted to check in -

im back on the "let's lose weight" thing. i got a personal trainer, switched gyms and trying to get back into it. i've had some pretty bad revelations around how i relate to food, and it makes it a lot harder to diet and excersize.

thats it for now. ill be back.

I haven't posted in a while because I haven't been doing right! I weighed myself last night and I have not gained a pound of the weight I've lost. That has encouraged me to get back on the good foot with my workouts. I really wish I could afford a personal trainer but they are so expensive.

Talking FS is the TRUTH!

Ok, so I cheated. I wasn't supposed to get on the scale until tomorrow morning. I couldn't wait. This is the 2nd time I've gotten on during these 9 days. I started on 5/1 at 182.5. This morning, Day 9, I'm at 174!!!!! The 180's are GONE y'all!!! GONE!!!!! TWO FANGAS!!!!! I seriously doubt if I lose anymore between today and tomorrow, but I'll still post what it is on Day 10, along with my measurements.

Eight days, 8.5 pounds... that ain't bad!!! Yeah, I'ma continue on with FS. Tomorrow starts Phase II.

I'm all happy for myself for making it through all 9 days.

Delph - congrats on maintaining!! From what I hear, it's harder to keep the weight off than it is to lose it.

Have a GREAT day, y'all!!! Remember, WE are in control, NOT the food!!!

YAHHHHHH!!!!! Congrats on the weight loss!! I am so happy for you!!

I'll be starting FS on Monday. I am still in the midst of my post-finals joy/sorrow. I need time to recuperate from the late hours, the sickness of possibly failing (though I'm sure I didn't), the anticipation of grades, etc. I'm just happy to be able to sleep again!

I haven't gained any weight. I'm still the same. Hopefully, I'll have similar success as Ideal and lose about 8 pounds. That would be GREAT! I wonder if I could lose about 10 if I stay on it for about 14 days (2wks). I could use a 10 pound loss to jump start my weight loss again and put me back on track. I also dropped back down to Stage 1 on SparkPeople. I had been on Stage 2 for about 6-8 wks., but since I have been off-track for about the past 3 wks., I want to go back to the beginning.

I'm pumped!! Hopefully I can start my last year of school by making it to Onederland. I need about a 30 pound weightloss. By the time I graduate, I'll (hopefully) be at my goal weight. Then I'll be ready for my new, post-school life!! Let's get to losing!!

Thanks, Soror!!! You know I couldn't have done it without you!!!!! And congratulations on being done with finals!!! But an even bigger CONGRATULATIONS for maintaining your weight. Especially since you were worried you'd gained a few pounds due to the snacking; you did better than you thought!

I keep going back and forth about staying on Phase I. I don't think I can. I need something besides water. I may have one or two Phase I days each week, though. FS is the best jump start EVER!!!! But, I can't lie, right now, in this moment, I'm hungrier (as in craving-wise) than I have been the whole past 8 days. I want something to drink besides water. That's pretty much all it is; I'm sick of only water. That has gotten REAL old REAL quick.

I'm pumped, too, Soror! I've never felt more able to accomplish something than I do right now. If I can do this for 9 days, I can do anything, lol.

Congrats Ideal08!

I just finished my TOTM. Normally, I gain 4-5 lbs afterwards because of water bloat and eating the wrong foods. Today, I weighed myself and I'm ACTUALLY down 2 lbs. So far, I've lost 17 lbs. I want to lose 73-83 more lbs over the rest of the year to March 1, 2008. I'm still very much on plan. I hope to lose 6-9 lbs by the end of the 1st week of June. At that time, I'll find out if I passed the civil service exam and if I'll have an dept interview. I want to be as small as possible for that.

So, imagine me drinking water for 40 day and 40 nights for Lent!

Actually, I like water MORE now than ever. Soft drink and other stuff makes me feel bad. I have been drinking all kinds of crazy stuff, i.e. cheap gas station coffee, Red Bulls, Kool-Aid, etc. for the past few weeks and I feel like crap. I need to detox.

I'm ready to Smash!!

Best & Worst Diets

Best & Worst Diets
Posted By: John Matarese (www.wcpo.com)

Consumer Reports Article

It seems someone is always coming up with a new diet that claims it's a surefire way to shed pounds.
So how do you know which one delivers results?

Consumer Reports magazine just crunched the numbers, analyzing available scientific data, to come up with the best diet plan out there.

Temptations are everywhere, but especially when you're trying to lose weight.

And it seems there are just about as many diet plans jockeying for your attention.

Our partners at Consumer Reports have just analyzed a whole host of diet programs and books, based on the latest scientific data on what makes a successful diet. Consumer Reports rated eight diet plans that have been studied in clinical trials, including Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig, Slim-Fast, and Atkins. "We looked at actual scientific studies of the diets and we rated them on how much weight people lost, how easy they were to stick to, and how well they conformed with U.S. Dietary Guidelines." Consumer Reports says the most successful diet -- well worth spending your money on-- is the "Volumetrics Eating Plan."

Nancy Metcalf, Consumer Reports: "It's based on research that's been done at Penn State University. The principal is to fill up on low-density foods, foods that have a lot of volume for the amount of calories."

With Volumetrics, instead of a piece of coffee cake for breakfast, for the same 400 calories you could have a lot more food.

And these low-density foods are likely to fill you up sooner so you don't overeat.

--After Volumetrics, Consumer Reports found Weight Watchers was the second best diet.

-- And Jenny Craig came in as a very close third.

--The two lowest rated diet plans? The Ornish Diet, and the Atkins Diet, which both have high dropout rates.

--When it comes to popular diet books, Consumer Reports top ratings go to:

--The Best Life Diet by Bob Greene, and Eat, Drink, and Weigh Less by Mollie Katzen.

But Consumer Reports says don't expect miracles: even the highest-rated diets and books generally produce less than a ten percent weight loss after a year.

Fat Smash

Fat Smash is a "diet" that was developed by Dr. Ian Smith. It was made popular on the show Celebrity Fit Club (which I've never even seen). The link tells all about it. The book is only 12.95 in stores and about $7 on Amazon, if you're willing to wait for it.

I start Phase II today, Day 10 of FS. I weighed myself this morning and I am now at 173. I lost a total of 9.5lbs on Phase I of FS (9 days). My first indulgence today? I'm gonna buy a grape Propel Fitness Water. I can't wait to taste it, lol.

Talking Post happy?

lol, I don't know what's wrong with me. I have HELLA energy. WITH NO CAFFEINE!!!! It's amazing. Anyway, TNT. Y'all, I love it already. I'm going to set up my fundraising site today and of course I'll post it here. But I'm loving TNT!!! Our Kick-off party is tonight and I can't wait. I've already gotten two emails from my mentor, and I just talked to her on the phone for the first time yesterday. So already, I'm loving the support I'm receiving. I'd also been in touch with one of the coaches by email. Everyone is so encouraging. I love it. Don't know if I'm ready for training yet, lol, but I'm lovin' it.
