Quota at Baylor is 58 including Juniors. Tomorrow is bid day, and from what I've heard, it looks like every sorority has a good chance at bid matching. They also do quota additions.
Kappa Delta did not participate in formal recruitment, but will be doing their own parties next week.

baylor! my aunt called, because apparently my cousin is still busy.
quota was 58, and they use new release figures:

alpha chi omega: 60 ( +2)
alpha delta pi: 70 ( +12)
chi omega: at least 58 (quota)
delta delta delta: 67 (+9)
kappa alpha theta: 58 (quota)
kappa kappa gamma: 62 (+4)
pi beta phi: 63 (+5)
zeta tau alpha: 58 (quota)

those numbers may be off by a few as girls drop over the next two days, but apparently, that's the number of bids initially extended and accepted.

kappa delta, another sorority at baylor, did not participate in formal recruitment, and will be doing their own this coming week.

Congratulations to all the chapters at Baylor! I also want to say good luck to Kappa Delta. And of course I am really excited to see so many new ADPi Alphas!

From what I heard, they just decided it was better for the group to focus on COBing to total, because they are now the only group below, and below by a bit. Last year at formal recruitment, of the girls that bidmatched to them, most declined. Many would SIP any other party, or drop out if kappa delta was their only group. My cousin attends there, and she says that it's not fair to them, but they are the group that happens to currently struggle with membership. Most girls would rather be GDI than Kappa Delta, and with a different informal recruitment, they've found it easier to pick up more girls without the stress of a failing formal recruitment.
By low number, she was stressing that quota her year was 63, and kappa delta only had 11 or 12 bid acceptances, and that many drop out further into the experience. They are less than a third of the average chapter size.
Panhellenic and SOME (although sadly, not all) of the sororities and even some of the fraternities are helping them out now.

I wasn't aware that you could really opt out of formal recruitment. I looked at their website which has pictures of really cute girls. I wish them the best of luck getting out of this hole...unfortunately, it never is fair.

I've heard of chapters not doing formal recruitment before, so that didn't surprise me.

Saying that, with some panhellenic help, it's a possibility. Baylor has brought chapters (including hers) back from the brink before.

It can be dispiriting to be the group that fails at formal recruitment - and it makes it that much harder to be "up" for the new members you do get. I sincerely hope KD is able to COB some wonderful women and get up to total.
