Here's The Colorado Flag.

Like a lot of the others shown in the thread, the artist version is fairly dull, but fllying against a blue sky, it's really quite pretty.

But one does have to wonder if Disney in one way or another is the reason that this is the only flag which was used during the War between the States that the NAACP has not yet protested.
There could be historical reasons, Tallahassee was the only Confederate capital to never be taken over by the Union.

Also no major battles were fought in Florida. And slavery was quite different Florida than in most of the South. Mostly due to the Spanish influence which heavily encourage manumission. But of course it was still slavery.

^^^^ Or, it could be that the statement is predicated on two inaccurate suppositions: that the current flag of Florida was used during the Civil War (it wasn't) or that the NAACP has protested all other current Southern state flags that were used during the Civil War (they haven't).

That could be it too!

It just gave me a chance to rant off random Florida history knowledge I was forced to learn in college!

I posted that it was similar; which it is.
And I have seen ones (from The War of Northern Aggression) that are even closer.
I corrected my over statement.
And the NAACP has gone after the Stars and Bars. And their leverage is generally tourism.

It is certainly true that the saltire (X-shaped cross) in the Florida flag is inspired mainly by the Battle Flag. It's also inspired by earlier Spanish ensigns.

I think that the NAACP has usually gone after the Battle Flag (and state flags that include it -- the old Georgia flag and Mississippi), not the Stars and Bars.

I think I'm afraid.

The proportions are wrong on that one, though -- they match the old statutory discription proportion-wise; the legal description was changed a few decades ago to match the way the flag was made in actual practice. The proper proportions are like this:

Personally, though, I prefer the original (pre-1885) version of the flag:

I wish that in 1885 they had just changed the bottom date and otherwise left the flag alone.

I think I'm afraid. .
I really have to stop posting late at night....I do know better than crossing the Stars and Bars with the Battle Flag.

the virginia flag was changed

the spear used to point up

some people claim that the Liberty wore a breastplate prior to the Civil War, but this has never been substatiated (a picture of the flag would settle the debate but no one seems to have kept one)

The changes to the Virginia flag are minor ones that probably would not be noticed except on close fairly inspection.
