There is at least one Alpha Gam from VT who posts on here. I just can't imagine how these college kids are going to function through finals and things in the next few weeks.

I just talked to my friend who used to work for GM. A co-worker of hers went to VT and just so happens to be on campus there today teaching a class. I'm sure his family has heard from him by now, but none of the co-workers have yet.

I too flipped from CNN to FOX and was shocked by the insensitivity of that front picture on FOX. I can't imagine being a parent, looking at that picture and realizing that one of those kids was my son or daughter. I understand that this is big news, but they need to show some sense of decency here.

The MSNBC control room just interuppted the newscast and stated that the 31 were verified deceased per federal officials.
Has anyone been listening to the description of the shooter and the reasons why he did it? I just can't believe the reasons why  .

Finally got a quick "I'm okay" note back from my cousin...she is in a sorority at Tech and also on PHC exec, so if I hear anything more, I'll pass it along...more good news among co-workers with their friends also...still praying for everyone else.

I know there are a few people from VT on here (or moms/families of students at VT) and I hope everyone is safe. This is so horrible and scary that I don't know where to begin.

I was just going to post this.... 31 now dead. They are saying that he chained the doors shut in the campus building so they couldn't escape. So horrid......

Basically he was an Asian guy (not sure if he was a foreign national or just Asian) who was essentially going through a bad breakup which was causing bad grades. I missed the part of the report that explained where they got this information from though.
