My state is not considered to be very fashion forward, but geez.. these things are over, aren't they? Considering that they are over here (and have been), are you guys saying that they'll come back?

I've been wearing the baby blue "Hope for Natalee" bracelet everyday. I believe this raised money for either Natalee Holloway's family, or the NH scholarship fund.
I have a red one for the Theta Chi, Kevin Charvet, in Washington with cancer (His chapter raised the money for Kevin's cancer treatments which his insurance no longer covered).
I have another red bracelet for the "My Soldier" program. It's where you adopt a soldier and write them letters, send care packages, etc. The band was free when you sign up.

I have 3 of them.

One is a light purple one that supports the C.A.R.E organization that J.K Rowling teamed up with to aid reading in developing countries. I normally only wear that one to school or when I'm tutoring kids in reading, heh Oh, it is imprinted with, "Reading is Magic"

My second one is for support of adopting children, I can't remember though the specific organization however. It's a bright magenta color.

And my third one is the Social Work band, it's a dark teal color. I bought one from my sister's work (she's a social worker, heh) and normally wear that one and the 2nd one when I'm volunteering there.

I have a pink one(breast cancer) that I do wear, not everyday, but I do wear it.

I think wearing more than one or two at a time is overkill. Yes, you can support many organizations and causes, but really folks....

I agree, except I would say "way" out of control. They're meaningless now because (1) there are too many of them to keep track of the "valid" charitable ones, especially since you can't really read what they say unless you get too close for comfort, and (2) there are so many non-charitable ones that the value of the symbol is heavily diluted.

I don't wear any and I don't know if I ever will.

I kid of feel like Kramer from Seinfeld when he refused to wear the ribbon. I don't feel like I need to wear a ribbon or a wrist band to support a cause. I also feel like they are getting out of hand. It's one thing to wear one to support a cause, but I don't think you need to wear one to support your local sports team.

I have bought some just to give the donation. $2 isn't that much to give.

I have only bought and supported one cause, and that was the Breast Cancer one I got from Target.com.

The others were just given to me. Catholic Relief Services (big after the Tsunami) and The Hunger Site (I think) both have blue ones (one navy and one light, respectively.)

I don't wear either of them anymore. I was on a mission to find one for Diabetes research, but some sites said they were red, others said they were teal, others were blue... but NONE of them said they proceeds directly supported Diabetes research. I don't think ADA or JDF jumped on the bandwagon. Oh well.
