We're always so concerned when others "might" misrepresent our organization when they're not even members. WE are accountable for representing our organization to the fullest. And if we do that, then there would be no confusion when others try to imitate. So, let GPHIGerald and Dedicated Sisters of Tyrese do their thing, cuz I'm going to keep on doing mine. DST to the day I die. Peace!

Keep doing your thing. I don't think any of us said that these organizations were going to have any huge impact on our existence OR the existence of our organizations. Are you a member of Dedicated Sisters of Tyrese, by any chance?

IMO, GPHIG as it refers to the Gerald Levert situation has no relation to greek letters. It's an acronym that happens to resemble a greek organizations call letters. The same goes for GloryPhiGod or whatever.

I am a greek, but I also know that greeks do not own sororities/fraternities. The word itself is simply a social organization of women.

Delta Sigma Theta is one of a kind. I would be up in arms if my letters verbatim were used to distinguish any other "organization" be it women, men, children or otherwise. That to me is a different story.

I saw Gerald LeVert in concert on Saturday for the 2nd time and again he still gets down and puts on a SHOW and not MESS.

I agree with the G Phi G'ers that Gerald has not received all of the accolades that he deserves for his music but you know what? A lot of people who win such awards, be it deservingly or not, are not 15 year mainstays in the music industry.

No one specifically stated that these groups would have any HUGE impact, but they did infer that they would cause confusion of identity, etc. I'm not trying to debate anyone's opinion. I was just offering my own. I think Delta's name has a long history of being recognized as a leading social organization, dedicated to change and improving upon society. I believe the way that image is tarnished is when our own members stray from the ideals of Delta. People don't confuse Walmart tennis shoes with Nike. Bad example, but I'm just trying to state that I don't think the poor imitations, deviations, or whatever have any significant impact on our image as much as I do our very own members.

the president of the DC chapter of G Phi G was on the Russ Parr show this morning giving condolences to some person named Kim who I think was Levert's baby mama or someone special in is life... I spat out my hash brown when she introduced herself...
