Pet Peeves

I have a whole list......

On the road:
- Tailgaters
- People who drive too slowly in the left lane
- Motorcycle riders who think the lane line is their own private lane
- People who leave the scene of an accident without exchanging insurance info
- People who drive slowly until you get to a passing zone, then suddenly speed up so you can't pass them safely
- People who don't signal their turns or lane changes
- People who get mad when you slow down because it's snowing
- People who go to gas stations and position their cars so as to block two gas pumps... especially if they aren't even getting gas, just running in for coffee
- People who talk on hand-held cell phones while driving

Off the road:
- Parents who don't take their crying children outside the store/mall/theatre/etc
- Parents who pretend their kids are little angels and couldn't POSSIBLY be causing a disturbance
- People who assume that all a young woman (like me) wants to do with her life is get married, get pregnant, have a bunch of kids, and stay home with them instead of having a career
- People who go out of their way to hurt animals
- People who leave their cell phones on at movies, concerts, etc.
- People who lock their little children or pets in the car on a hot day with the windows closed
- Clients who think they don't have to pay their invoices!

Had to bring this one up again b/c I have another new Pet Peeve.

If you break plans for me b/c you have an "emergency" then it had damn well better be some freaking emergency. I had dinner plans w/a friend a few nights ago. She called & told me she had a family emergency so I said we'll do it again some other night. I ran into her husband at Blockbuster who preceeded to tell me that they were having a night alone together. There was no family emergency! If you would rather spend some time w/your significant other, at least be honest & don't lie. I was worried thinking something had happened to her sick grandparents.

Principals with no backbone. Had a kid say "fuck you" to me among other things he said & did. He hit a child in my classroom & the principal had him sit in the office for an hour before returning him to class. He didn't want to call the parents b/c they are the type to go ballistic if you accuse their child of anything. I was supremely pissed so I called the parents & have a conference w/them tomorrow. My union rep will also be there b/c our principal is a spineless weenie that lets the parents decide the course of disciplinary action.

people who let their kids run through my store tormenting the animals, ask to play with every puppy in the store, and then leave 15 minutes after we've already closed without buying a damn thing.

I love this thread!! I can agree with alot of these but one of my biggest pet peeves would have to be women who drive BIG suvs and don't know how to park, back up, or change lanes in it!!Come on, if you have to back out of a spot 3 or 4 times to get in the lines you do not need to drive that type of vehicle!!
And about the not liking cats and dogs thing I totally agree, but I do have one girlfriend who is absolutely scared to death by cats. She will not even come into my home because of the two that I have but I love her to death anyway and I keep hoping that she will come to her senses.

• People who are mean to animals. Mean people just suck in general
• People who are really loud on their cell phones.
• People being cruel to those with disablities. Especially people who stutter or have speach problems.
• Loud obnoxious sounds like people eating apples or carrots with their mouth open.... ugh!!
• Screaming children.
• People who think that I need a baby to be a complete woman, and a dedicated wife.
• People who try to tell me how to live, and who think I'm wierd because I don't have to be with my husband 24/7 in order for us to have a happy, wonderful relationship.
• People who think all sorority girls are valley girls.

Those bitchy older women at work who think something is wrong w/me b/c at 26, I'm not planning on starting a family right away when I get married this year. They seem to think it's criminal that I don't want kids for at least 5 years.
They love to remind me EVERYDAY that my biological clock is ticking.

Yeah I'm bumping this one b/c I had a few more to add.

If I'm in the restroom at work, don't bang on the door repeatedly. It's obvious that if the damn door is locked, someone is in there! Just wait patiently instead of asking through the door if there's anyone in there! Sheesh.

Another one is people who assess everything you eat. Sounds weird right? Some bitch at work commented during our luncheon yesterday about my eating habits when I went to get seconds on a particularly delicious pasta salad. She said that she couldn't believe I went up twice to eat b/c the rule is you only get to go through the line once. She kept telling people when they would go for seconds about it. WTH? Serious food nazi here. I just told her that if it bothered her that much, she should go eat in her classroom so the rest of us don't bother her.

Last night the bathroom thing happened to me - what on earth does a locked bathroom door mean to people? What part of locked means "keep pulling and knocking??"

The food assessing - I toooootally know someone who does that all the time. She'll be like "whatcha got there???" and of course that day it's always like a grille cheese and fries..

i got to read this post at just the right time. i so need to vent on my work pet peeves. i work in retail and our employees get commission for their sales. i really really really hate it when two or three employees start fighting over who gets the sale or who gets what percentage of the sale. and better yet, they keep bitching about it even after the sale is over and done with.

CRY ME A RIVER, BUILD ME A BRIDGE, AND GET OVER IT!!!!!

--people who ask me repeatedly why I'm not getting married before grad school...some people don't understand that a wedding isn't the highest priority for everyone
--people who talk loudly on their cell phones about trouble with their significant other in a quiet lab and then get all annoyed when people are listening to them...hello, we couldn't help but listen because you were *shouting*
--crying babies at movies they really shouldn't be seeing
--parents who won't disipline their kids and let them run all over target shouting and running into people
