Homecoming? What's that?
We do have a football team, and we do have homecoming, but the running joke is that the homecoming game is broadcast in stereo so that you can hear both people in the stands. It's pretty much a non-event unless you're on the team.

Now that's funny...
Back in the 80's, when we were winning a game every two to three years it seemed the running joke was that any student who stayed for a whole football game would get a full ride scholarship -- and they never gave one away. Everyone came for the band show at pre-game and halftime then headed for the uptown bars.

My school didn't have Homecoming because we had no football team and no one went to the basketball games. There's no school pride at NYU until you graduate.

I love Homecoming! I always had fun at it, even though our football team was pretty bad most of the time. (My first two years at IU, the team was pretty good. Trent Green was QB at that time.)
I like going to my high school's homecoming games, too, when I can. My 10 year reunion was held the same weekend as homecoming.

My school does not have a football team either, but that doesn't stop us from having Homecoming (actually called Fall Fest for some odd reason). I love Fall Fest and I frequently say that it is just like Christmas, because it only comes once a year. I think it's because I absolutely adore drinking during the day. It's so much more fun than getting drunk at night. I also like to see our recent alums and changing outfits a thousand times, because that's usually what happens. I had a lot of fun last weekend at Fall Fest- and I can't wait until next year, since all of my sisters in my pledge class will finally be old enough to go to the bars with me...

Unfortunately, homecoming at Boston U. was not a big deal at all. We always put together a Greek Life float for the parade, but there wasn't much else. I always thought the lack of a football team contributed to that.

Next weekend.
Depending on whether or not UCO beats Kingsville, this could be an important game to see if UCO has a shot at a Conference title.

Hooray for homecoming!

Yeah, I'm not super thrilled about the night game, but on the upside, I get to sleep in later than like 6 on a Saturday. I'm excited because it sounds like I'm going to have a good turnout for my tailgate. Gotta love tailgating. Hopefully that will compensate for lack of bartime (I may also leave the game early). I'm also hoping to get to see the YLH performances. I'm not sure if the house made it to finals, but I'm hoping so.
