What schools need expansion?

I don't know if Phi Sigma Rho would work at Florida Tech right now. Most of the girls in the local that's looking to associate with a national are Biology majors, which isn't really engineering or engineering technology. If Phi Sigma Rho allows non-engineering majors, then it might work.

Our Office of Greek Life and Panhellenic Council established that if a new group comes, the girls to help colonize will be the ones who are already members of the local, but the national organization can come down and interview more from there. They're submitted a request for expansion to NPC, but I know the girls have been looking into multi-cultural organizations as well. We want a new sorority, but we don't want to just kick the girls in the local to the side.

Indiana University could use a new sorority or two. There are 19 NPC sororities now. I know, it sounds like a lot...but the fact is, about 1,600 women go through recruitment every year and only about 900 women get a bid. The chapters are all above 100 members. There's definitely the demand for it...unfortunately it's near-impossible for a sorority to expand there, even though there are new fraternities popping up every year.

As for which sororities: I would have liked to see Phi Sigma Sigma there when I was there. Alpha Sigma Alpha, Sigma Sigma Sigma, and Sigma Kappa were all there when I was there but have closed down since. I know there was a recolonization effort for Tri-Sigma last year but I don't know what happened with it.

I said basically the same thing when asked to give to my school's alumnae fund: when the Greeks are given a fair shake in their quarterly Brag-O-Zine, I'll think about it!

~There have been rumors that Chi Omega, Phi Mu, or Theta Phi Alpha might be coming back on campus.....but it seems to still be a long way off. Phi Mu is bringing back their Alumnae group currently. I think that it is time though that Akron does expand to 6 sororities especially since there will be 12 fraternities here soon.

ETA--a quick review of BU's Go Greek website showed I missed a couple. AKA and aKDPhi are also colonized under the Multicultural Greek Council.
ETA - crap, I forgot Tau Beta Sigma!! (The biggest partiers of all Greeks when I was an undergrad.)

I'll co-sign on George Mason! I'd say Wake Forest, but my understanding is that they're in the process of recolonizing one of the sororities that went off campus in the past few years (but not ADPi).

Wake will be expanding next month with Delta Zeta. They have next planned to expand with ADPi, which was formerly on campus.

i think usi (university of southern indiana) could use some growth, the university is making a transition from being a commuter to a residential school, so it's a good time for more chapters. we have three sororities, npc asa, dz, gphib, one nphc dst and the fraternities are, KA order, tke, phi delt, phi sig, lambda chi, aphia.

I think what we really need is for the university to improve its mediocre support of greek life. Then another chapter would have a chance to establish itself, we had a npc colony close last year, so i while i think more chapters would be great, there would be no success without more support.

while i don't go there anymore, the university of evansville has a phenomenal interest group that could really use the stucture and support of a national sorority and i think they should expand, enrollment is growing there and with 6 fraternities and only 4 sororities they won't be able to accomodate that growth soon
