I really like it. It gets more use than my badge because I only wear my badge when I'm really dressed up, whereas I wear my ring when I look nice (khakis, etc.)

In response to the original question, I wear my Badge on NPC Badge Day, sometimes to church and to DZ functions. Also, last week I had high tea with three of my girlfriends (two Chi-Os and a Theta) and we all wore badge attire and badges

Well, in Alpha Phi Omega we have some alternative insignia to our Badge: the Service Pin as well as a Life Member Pin. Due to the higher cost of the badge, few get one, but everyone gets a Service Pin.

As a Life Member, I wear that pin and no longer wear the service pin (as I feel the LM pin 'supersedes' it). I'll wear it on days I'm doing some with the fraternity, such as attending a meeting or event.

I usually only bring out and wear the badge at more formal occasions, such as banquets or initiation ceremonies (when I'm also wearing a coat/tie.

So unless I'm doing something involving the fraternity, I don't usually wear insignia.

I wear my badge ONLY in badge attire. While in such attire, I have worn my badge to church, political shindigs/fundraisers, weddings, and funerals.

On Founders' Day, I make sure to dress up no matter what I am doing that day. I just make sure to be in badge attire.

I did wear mine at my wedding. (Since I have the ZTA badge with pearls and sapphires, it was my 'something blue'.)

IMO, badges should only be worn when in proper attire. But, once again, that may just be the 'Southern belle' in me.

Does anyone else think this is a regional/geographic thing?

I wear my Theta badge to Fraternity events (dressy alumnae events, initiations, college chapter meetings, Convention, Founders Day, etc.). I don't think I have worn it to a non-Theta (or non-Greek) event since college.

I don't work currently, but my two previous jobs were extremely casual - first at a high-tech company where if you wore anything other than jeans, your boss would ask where you were interviewing; and then in a cooking school. Don't think the badge would be appropriate or safe on my chef's jacket!

I live in N. California, where Greek life just isn't widely considered.

I think everyone's definition of "badge attire" is different. According to my New Member Guide, badge attire is defined as "when members are dressed nicely and are well groomed". That can vary from region to region. Wearing a polo shirt with a casual skirt may be considered "well groomed" in one part of the continent while in another, one has to be in a suit. Inappropriate clothing, according to the Guide is anything that is "ripped, worn or tattered". I personally wouldn't wear my badge with jeans, sweats, shorts, etc.

I wear my pin when I'm attending a formal event or I'm on official business at a campus recruiting Seniors into the Alumni Association.

I wear my badge most Monday nights. I try to attend the chapter meetings of the chapter I advise and as Ritual Advisor not wearing my badge would be a no-no! Also I wear it to work on Badge Day (always in March) but I think I will try to remember to wear it on our actual Founders' Day. Of course I will wear it to Founders' Day celebrations & Alumnae Panhellenics luncheons, etc.

As an involved alum, I wear my badge to collegiate chapter meetings, alumnae association board meetings, Founder's Day, District Workshops/Conventions, etc.

I have worn my badge to work on Founder's Day and NPC Day, and although I have gotten a few "looks," I was proud to be able to wear my badge!

Typically, in the working world, when I have a presentation to give or I need a little boost of courage, I will pin my badge to the inner lining of my blouse or a pocket. Just knowing it is there is a constant reminder of all of my sisters who are rooting for me to be successful! It helps chase away any nervousness or jitters.

I guess you could call my Alpha Delta Pi Badge my very own Good Luck charm! I also have a silly tradition with myself that whenever I put on my badge or take it off, I sing an ADPi song (humming or just singing it in my head) that is called "I love the pin." And I do love my pin! It reminds me of so many good things in my collegiate past, my alumnae present and everything yet to come in my life and my membership

Phi Mu's Founder's Day is March 4, so every so often we are wearing our badges for International Badge day as is everyone else wearing their badges for our Founder's day . I find that totally cool!

I also have the problem of scrubs not being appropriate badge attire. Even though, being a nurse, I wouldn't want to put my badge through the horrors of some of my typical nights at work!
