Stardusttwin,

Does blind as a bat sound bad enough?

I honestly don't know what my vision was prior to the surgery, but it was pretty darn bad. I put my glasses on first thing in the morning and took them off last thing at night. I wasn't even able to walk around the house without them.

I may be an exception to the rule, but I have a Soror that had the surgery done a few months after I did, and upon talking with her a few weeks ago, she told me that she also has glasses for the computer, but she doesn't wear them that often. Now my problem is not that I can't see well, but astigmatism. I've heard (and Soror told me that her doctor said this as well) that astigmatism can "come back", if you will.

Do your research before having lasik - there have been zillions of successes, but also many people that are not satisfied with the results. I'd be interested in finding out how many people also have had to wear glasses or contacts after surgery.

I am sure that you will be as fly as ever!

That first chick looked like she found her plastic surgeon at the bowling alley or something. She was JACKED UP! Sort of like that guy on "I want a famous face." Does anyone else watch that?

Re: Plastic Surgery

I wouldn't. Surgery, of any kind, is no joke. I am a-okay with what I have and whatever needs to be fixed, I can do it on my own. No need to nip, tuck, cut, or otherwise re-arrange UNLESS my health is in jeopardy.

Cool I'm boobalicious!

Hello all!
My surgery was successful! It was on Tuesday and I am feeling great! The results are absolutely amazing. I can really see how this becomes addictive for some people. I went it, didn't feel a thing, no pain, no nothing. My recovery has been just fine. I thought that it would be a lot worse, but it hasn't been bad at all. I probably could have gone back to work on Thursday. I have a wonderful doctor and I am more than pleased with the outcome. Thanks for the well-wishes.

Also, in terms of getting insurance to pay, if you have a flex spending plan, you can get money taken out of your check pre-tax and then use it to pay for the surgery. This will help you out on your taxes, but not defray the entire costs.
Please check with your FSA (flexible spending account) to see if this is allowed. I thought it was universal, but I know that with my current and previous employers you could not play for cosmetic surgery with FSA dollars. The only exception was lasix (sp?) because that is to correct a medical problem. I'll have to check the SPD when I get back to work to be sure. I am in HR, but benefits is not my thang.

TV One has a special called "Black Don't Crack". If you get a chance to see it, please do.

I thought it was very good. Black can crack, just not as, umm, visibly as others.
