from what i saw, it seems itll have the stereotypical characters of a reality show--rich girl, frat boy (who i think will be an AphiA), quiet freshman, overgrown senior, the overacheiver student, the rebel, blah, blah, blah...get over it!
i will report back on this. some1 holla if they know what im talkin about.
p.s. tell me why i didnt know about the b2k breakup until this morning! and i work with jhs kids! i saw them on 106 and park, but probably want paying attention.

Well it's set at a college so it probably won't be toooo bad, but I can't say I have a good feeling about this!

I know that last Spring’s Greek show and DST probate was filmed. If I'm not mistaking the entire Spring Fest weekend was filmed. Everywhere you went on campus there were flyers up warning of taping taking place.

I believe it starts on the 28th or 29th of January. I'm a little nervous about the show, but I will be watching it.

I will not lie - I'll watch it because I watch a bi of reality TV. I'm also curious to see what a black reality show will be like ESPECIALLY at a college which has all sorts going on - greek life, partying, school stress, people growing up, cliques, etc.

BET Goes Back to School

By Cynthia Littleton
LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - BET is diving into the reality TV business with a new 13-week series that follows the lives of eight black coeds at Louisiana's Southern University.
The show was unveiled Friday during the Viacom-owned network's portion of the Television Critics' Assn. press tour in Hollywood.
"College Hill," produced by Edmonds Entertainment ("Soul Food"), is set to debut at 9 p.m. on Jan. 28. The series aims to put the spotlight on life at one of the nation's historically black colleges.
"There is college life and there is black college life," said Stephen Hill, BET senior vp music programming and talent.
To promote the show, BET will mount a watch-and-win sweepstakes that will hand out $2,000 in college scholarship money per episode.

Wait.
A Delta Probate was filmed to be aired on BET?
Excuse my confusion everyone, but what would posses them to let that happen?
A probate/coming out show IS a form of celebration and in many cases just a harmless act of showcasing new members.
Not sure of the context of what took place, but does anyone else get a bit nervous on the airing of the episode?
Holla Back.

It's about dang time that BET does something like this. I just know it's gonna be off the chain.
Like they said, there is "college life" and then there is "black college life".

I really don't see anything wrong with the airing of the probate show, because of the fact that it is done in public in the first place, just as it is done on many college campuses. IMO, I think that by airing the probate show, it will enhance the reality of campus life at an HBCU.

True Soror, it is a public showcase of new members, but personally I think there can be a fine line.
I was made in '99, and personally, MY probate show would have been UNACCEPTABLE to be aired on national TV.
I do think the reality show will be enlightening for others to see-giving a look inside an HBCU and all that comes along with it-, but honestly, I do get a bit nervous on the airing of the episode containing sorors and a so called "probate" show.
I'll be watching... and hopefully it won't be as bad as I'm assuming.
We'll check back in after the airing of the episode, and chat about it then.
