I think some of you are giving middle schoolers too much credit for being mature. They all *WANT* to be mature, to be older. It's so much so that they create these high drama relationships and rush getting into sexual relationships because that's what they think adults do. Yeah, let's throw Hooters in the equation to completely FUBAR their little warped minds.
I, myself, am a teacher and there would have to be kids dying of dehydration and hell would have to freeze over for me to stop at Hooter's with kids.

Tracy, Tracy...
you are SO still a Pittsburgher - thinking there is an Eat 'n' Park on every corner! Next thing we know you'll be saying they should have made the kids walk over the bridge to get to the bus.

That was the front page story here yesterday morning, and let me tell you there are a LOT of pissed off parents here. One lady I know is very religious whose son was there. Her son didn't seem to think too much of it, but she is irate.

My God people, IT'S HOOTERS! They sponsered my high school football team, should we stop that just because the servers wear shorts and t shirts? Would you rather they be served by women in full veils? Sure Hooters was not the best descision, but I'm pretty sure their "virgin" eyes won't be scared for too long. Almost every middle school male has gotten their hands on a playboy and most of the girls have probally seem a naked woman before too. All I have to say is did it hurt when you fell and that stuck got shoved up your...well you know.

Hooters is a family restaurant...
I'm sure most 7th & 8th graders have seen MUCH more!

whn did they start doing that?
is that because they're right near the hotel?
and what's wrong with saying 'broads'?
it's an NY/Jersey thing from the past. . .
after watching Mafia movies, i find myself saying 'broad' for weeks. . .

I remember when I was in high school and we weren't allowed to watch any R rated movies. And in middle school, we couldn't watch PG-13 movies. These things required parental permission slips before the teachers could show them because of the content.
Yes, the women at Hooters are clothed, but at the same time, much of what is in a PG-13 movie isn't that excessive, but still requires permission. Kids aren't stupid, contrary to what we'd like to believe (I work at a daycare center with elementary and middle school kids and know full well what they are capable of and what they know), I think that it should still be up to the parents as to whether or not their children go into a restaurant with a more mature clientele.

I think it's absurd that a school would actually take a trip to Hooters. Yeah, it's not a strip club, but it's still a trashy place, it still is inappropriate for Jr. High kids, and there was no good reason to take them there. Girls have to deal with enough crap about looking a certain way, the school shouldn't parade it around in their face. And sure, let's get some little pre-adolescent boys sexually aroused while we're at it. 7th and 8th graders aren't expected to be mature yet and they sure as hell don't need the school system condoning sexuality. It's no wonder 14 year olds dress like hookers now.

Geez, people.....Hooters is not that trashy. The food is good and so is the service. AND I'm a girl. I went a few months ago and loved it
I remember when I was in 7th and 8th grade I had breast, like the Hooter girls (not as big). Middle school age boys are going to see boobs everywhere, regardless if it is at Hooters or even McDonalds. They have a radar...don't you know? lol
