Without a doubt, APHIA. They are classy and charming. Rich in history and always taking care of business. Besides they are the first and finest!

Maybe Sigma or Iota (even though the only Iota I ever meet was a jacka$$), I admire their principles a great deal.

I'm sorry, although there are some cool Omegas out there, they scare the HELL out of me in general. In college, I had a friend who was always dragging us to Que parties (she was a shameless aforementioned groupie). I had to put a ban on the Que parties, they are a little too CRUNK for me.

Kappa - First of all, I have no coordination, so I could never work the cane. Also, my body just rejects those colors ;-)

Angry

I am mad at everyone who's decision was based on colors and stereotypes. I know this was only a question that no one could answerl literally, but man, can we have some more thought please? If an interest said I want to be Zeta because of the colors I know yall would be upset, and note I only said used Zeta as an example because this is there forum. This post is not to pick on anyone but just be aware that there are interests who read this responses and think that its cool to based your decision on something so trivial. That being said, out of the D9 orgs I would be an alpha with iota coming in a close second. I love the history of alpha and how it has always attracted prominent leaders of our society. Honestly, if I was a different person, I would probably want to be an apha anyway although I am female. I love the struggle and endurance that is present in the attitude and founding principles of Iota. You gotta love their motto, Building a tradition, Not resting on one. Thats visionary. But honestly, being me, even if I was a man, I dont think I would be greek at all. Where I am at now, they all seem to lack something I seek, but that's getting personal. I digress.

Well...

There are things about each of the sororities that I like. However, if I were a girl, I would choose Delta Sigma Theta. I have a lot of love and respect for Delta Sigma Theta's Five Point Thrust and having read In Search of Sisterhood, everything seems to fall in place to me. Not to mention that the Deltas that I know in person and on the net are mad cool. I also like the business-like mentality that many of the members young/old have which is very similar to how I am.

I like the sense of sisterhood that is very noticable with the women of Sigma Gamma Rho and Zeta Phi Beta. I admire how Sigma Gamma Rho is the only sorority not founded on the campus of Howard. Zeta Phi Beta's work with both the youth auxillary and older auxillary has been a favorit of mine too (and the family representation doesn't hurt). And I have always respected Alpha Kappa Alpha's commitment to strengthening and empowering the African-American family, which is important to me.

So even though I would choose Delta, much love and respect goes out to all the sororities of the Divine Nine.

If I were the opposite sex I would rush...

I may not be a Zeta but I thought this was cool question.

I am a Phi Sigma Sigma and if I were of the opposite sex the fraternity that I would rush would be Pi Kappa Alpha. These guys have a lot of fun and have the best parties around campus. I know alot of people don't like them because of their reputation which is really bad. Most are border line alcoholics. But they still have fun and they don't let what others say about them.

These are the type of guys that you don't date or become your boyfriends because they are really unfaithful and committment phobic. But as friends they are the best around campus.

Wink

First of all, much love goes out to ALL members of the D-Vine 9 organizations. But, I must say, that if I was a male species-LMAO, I would preferably be a member of ALPHA PHI ALPHA for reasons beyond my control. I have love for the fraternity brothers, but the men of A PHI A just have that demeanor that represents BROTHERHOOD. Much love goes out to my FRAT of Phi Beta Sigma, Fraternity, Inc, for truly "OUR CAUSE SPEEDS NOBELY ON IT'S WAY.....

Now I'm not Greek, but if I were a guy pursuing Greekdom, I'd definitely wanna pursue Alpha Phi Alpha. Just something about them.....

I think that I would pursue Alpha Phi Alpha or Kappa Alpha Psi.

Alpha: I never had the opportunity to meet any Alpha men before I came to college. Once I did though, I was blown away. They are by far the most active fraternity on my campus. Their members are some of the most intelligent, and community oriented Black men that I hav ever met. And, I have found this to be true across the organization.

Kappa: My father is a Kappa man. He is no longer active in the fraternity and I didn't even know he was a member until I was sixteen. If he wasn't I probably would not even consider it. But, I think that if my father had had a son, instead of all girls, he probably would have been motivated to reactivate with the fraternity and instill those ideals in his son. And, for some strange reason, when those Kappa shoulders shake, I get a little weak in the knees. Now, I know how ClassyMomma must have felt.

Since this was just a "fun" hypothetical question, I would think that an organization's principles would not be the only factor considered, because as we all know, it isn't just principles alone that were the deciding factor for most of us when we joined our respective organizations, right? Athough I think I would excel and be uplifted in any of the 5 NPHC fraternities if I were a guy, based upon what I know of my own personality, and based on the guys I know in all five fraternities, I would probably be most at home being either an Alpha Phi Alpha member or an Iota Phi Theta member. Doesn't mean I don't love my fraternity brothers or their principles--in fact, I have a huge amount of respect for both.

NewBee,
You didn't mention why you chose Iota as a close second.

I would be an Alpha or an Iota. My reasons for chosing Alpha Phi Alpha are pretty much the same as others. Besides, I got mad love for the phirst pham!
I would also consider Iota because they are the first greeks that I met when I was an undergrad. All of them that I ever met from every school (except one) were perfect gentlemen. I like how tight they seem; their brotherhood is very welcoming.
